We use this to connect a portable solar panel and it works well

polarity was correct and wired directly to my solar controller.

The wires are reversed through the connection unless you use the little adapter piece. But I'll just have to deal with that because I don't want to use an extra piece when I shouldn't have to.Other than that they are nice thick good quality wires, mc4 connectors seem to be solid. The flange is pretty rubbery for a flange but that might help it seal up better.

I build portable power stations for preppers and recreational users. This makes a quick connect/disconnect and I find it perfect for the DYIer. It is a good value coming with the crossover and connectors

Bought this as an adapter for a 30’ standard 2-part cable wire. Needed to connect to the solar outlet on my RV. Didn’t need the included outlet kit. Works great.

How they have a 4.3 rating is puzzling!As you can see from the attached photo there are two major problems.1- Wires are reversed through the wall mounted connector (black to red and red to black)2- The faceplate that mounts to the wall is bent, NOT flat as it should be.They do include an adapter to correctly reverse the wires, but DON’T use it because the connectors for hooking up to the solar panels are the WRONG gender. Seriously folks?! Who rates this stuff 5 stars?So the solution: On the wire with connectors on both ends, use black tape to cover the red wire and red tape to cover the black wire. Then red and black will align with the solar panels and the inside wire colors. Hopefully I can get the faceplate to flatten during installation. If not it will be returned. RVs only use 1/8” plywood. Won’t take much force to pull out a screw.Separate issue: The wires attached to the wall plate are 2’ also. Rather short IMO. 1’ longer would have been perfect for my install, so I had to splice on another foot of 10ga wire, black & red.

There is not instructions about the little adapter, most of us don't need it and connect it without it which gives us a headache trying to figure out the problem since the polarity switches without the little adapter, I don't understand the need of it.So if you buy it and planning on not using the adapter make sure you switch the cables because the red becomes neg and the black pos
