Just purchased this product after my wife's credit card was used fraudulently where almost £600 spent on the card. We believe they got the details from our rubbish from the house. We have had unwanted visitors coming to our property late at night but nothing stolen or so we thought. The shredder works perfectly and chops the paper very fine, if you don't want the hassle of credit card fraud then buy a shredder, I am annoyed we didn't do this sooner, there are people who are going through you rubbish, please think about what you place in your rubbish and don't just do what my wife did and place credit card statements and invoices in the trash.

I received a white LX201 paper shredder instead of a black LX211, but it suits us very well as it is very slightly smaller. I have decided to keep it rather than request a replacement LX211.Very pleased with the ease of use and the good sized bin.Compared to the old Fellowes shredder this new one is much quieter. The wheels are a good plus as they make it easier to move the shredder from under the desk.The IntelliBAR is helpful and not just a flashy gimmick.

This is an excellent product and very robust. I have tried various brands but this shredder meets all my needs. The micro cut shredding provides total security and enables me to shred more content into the bin as well. My husband and I have managed to get through a large backlog of papers in a short space of time. Very satisfied customers.E Godsall

Chose this shredder as wanted long lasting quality . Unpacked , plugged in..powered up ok,made a noise then...nothing. wouldn't shred. Arranged replacement which came 2 days later & disappointingly same issue. Hermes eventually collected both on 15th & still awaiting refund.

Quiet and effective

Replaced my old straight cut machine which was much noisier, slower and twice the size. The intellibar is clever to prevent you overloading or overusing the shredder. Whist I am using the shredder in a small home office and do not have the risk of young children trying to stick their fingers into the slot, the safety technology or as Fellows calls is (Safesense) does work.Comes on wheels, however, I have never really understood why shredders come on wheels as they are not really moved about, however, the shredder is totally stable on the wheels and it makes it much easier to move to Hoover.We empty ours straight into our paper recycling wheely bin so can't comment on the bags etc, although with the shredding being micro-cut as opposed to straight cut, I am emptying the bin a lot less often compared to the older machine.It's not a cheap unit compared to other shredders (hence the 4 out of 5) however this is because of the microcut and the extras like the Intellibar (prevents burning the shredder out / frequent jams) as well as the larger number of sheets per pass. You get what you pay for and I am yet to jam it so far. It does have a reverse mode which does what it says on the button!As full disclosure, I received this unit as a review sample but am reviewing the unit irrelevant of this fact.

The media could not be loaded.  Over the years I have owned and used many paper shredders, but each one has been small and inefficient. I have only ever been able to get a couple of sheets shredded with the machine I currently own, before it gets jammed and the game is over. I searched for a long while for an upgrade and a better piece of kit, and that is when I happily stumbled across the Fellowes LX201. Upon receiving the gargantuan box, I knew this shredder was going to be unlike anything I had used before. The weight and sheer size of it, told me I was in for something special. I removed the shredder from its box and immediately stared in awe. I know it's only a shredder, but I couldn't help but notice what a great looking machine this is. The instant I saw it, I could tell it had been made with care. Every detail had been attended too. The shredder came with a short manual which is very easy to follow, and as a bonus the company also included some plastic waste paper bags and a small bottle of oil, which is required at first use to make sure it is working optimally. The LX201 is by far the biggest and best paper shredder I have had the pleasure of using. It comes with a large capacity waste paper bin which pulls out very easily, and it has wheels which make manoeuvring this beast very smooth. The main selling point of this shredder however, is the intellibar and safe sense technology. The sensor bar at the top of the shredder is very smart, and has colour coded led lights within a strip that alternate between green, orange and red, making it very easy to see when the bin is full or when the machine is working at its best. Aside from this, the shredder also has a touch sensor which quickly detects the presence of someones hand, immediately preventing the shredder from operating whilst the hand is in contact with the machine. As for the shredding itself, (which lets be honest, is the main reason for buying it,) it is superb. So far I have tried many letters and envelopes and it has sliced through them in seconds, shredding the paper into the smallest particles I have ever seen from one of these. The LX201 is very efficient, extremely well made and perfect for its intended use. It is big, but it looks great, and a clear frontal window allows you to see how full it is. I can't praise this machine enough, so if you are considering buying a new paper shredder, the LX201 would be a great choice.
