Garmin Instinct Rugged Outdoor GPS Watch with Built-in Navigation Sensors, Heart Rate Monitoring, Activity Tracking and Stress Monitoring - Graphite (Renewed)

I purchased this for my husband after reading extensive blogs and reviews for what to get someone that is active outdoors, hunting, fishing, caonoeing, etc. Took a chance on the refurbished model to save some $$. Description says military specs for rugged factor. #truth My husband is a volunteer firefighter - it's held up through both structure and brush fires in addition to countless medical calls. No issues so far. He does industrial sales, so his hands are in engines, motors, etc, helping people find bearings and pullies, etc. etc. No issues there either. It's held up. He's not much of a texter, but he likes that when he's on the mower, cutting wood, or running equipment that is loud (where he is wearing ear protection & can't hear his phone) it buzzes his watch and he can see right away if he needs to respond. Battery life is 2 weeks, possibly longer. When it gets down to 1 bar he charges while in the shower. This was another plus regarding why I purchased this model, because he does a fishing trip to Canada with no services for 10 days - so his watch will hold up on that trip with a full charge. He likes that it counts steps, shows heart rate, weather, sunrise, sunset *AND* is SIMPLE to operate. He is not much of a tech guy - we set the watch so that emails and other "random stuff he doesn't really use" doesn't go to the watch, which has helped. He says he really loves this watch. Today - he is grilling and his grilling app alerted his watch that our smoked pork loin was to temp. Get the watch. Plain and simple. It's worth it. PS - we also got the screen protectors that were recommended to purchase with the watch. So far so good on those as well...

Garmin really delivered a great watch with the Instinct. I'm in the Army, and this is the perfect watch for me. It's durable and rugged, tracks all of my workouts and sleep, connects to my phone, has long-lasting battery life, and so many other great features (heart rate, weather, temperature, GPS, pedometer, calories burned, stress measurement, compass/navigation, air pressure, etc.). The battery is super helpful because I don't have to charge the watch overnight and therefore I can track my sleep.Overall, this watch was a great purchase. I bought it refurbished, and I didn't know what to expect (was it going to have a noticeable difference?), but this watch seems brand new and had a great price tag. There are endless features but the watch is very user-friendly, especially when you use the Garmin Connect app. I highly recommend purchasing this watch; I love it.

I love this Garmin watch! The GPS updates the time, it gives you sunrise/sunset, connects to an app to track whatever fitness activity you want to do outside (and maps it), gives you phone, weather, GPS pins. Gives you blood pressure monitoring, heart rate, sleep monitoring and the only thing I have no idea how it works is body battery. So far this watch is epic, the last garmin I had was a fitness watch that I've had over 5 years and it died because I took it in to the pool and used it submerged. Since it was a refurbished watch and so is this one for the price I'm just going to avoid using it under water. Good deal, enjoying this watch...but I do have one issue -the screen (watch face is smaller than one of the garmin basic level smart watch.) that is my only complaint, but I can live with it. epic watch for the price- thanks for reading my review. - Mike

I use this daily! Super simple to set up and connect with great performance and fitness tracking! Not to small nor to big, and has lasted through a few years of getting into fights as a police officer! Lasts about 2 weeks on a single charge! Can't beat it for the price!Still using it daily as of March 2025 with 0 issues. Not a single scratch on the glass and it's been through many fights in the streets.

Liked most; bought as refurbished, but works like new…

Intuitive, easy to use, and easy to set up. The display is great and easy to read. I also like that the use of buttons to change formats-no touch screen errors. I have had it for just about a month so we will see how it stands the test of time. The battery life is pretty good-not quite what they advertise. I have had to charge it twice since I got it but I think I used up a lot juice playing with all the functions. It is also a lot more comfortable to wear than the clunky divers I had been wearing. And I like it better than the old G Shock I have. I would highly recommend this watch.

I bought this watch to replace a Garmin Forerunner 35 that I had for years. The overall fit was great, battery life is amazing but I am highly disappointed with the heart rate monitoring during activities. No matter what position on my wrist I put it the reading is off, sometimes it isn't tracking my correct heart rate within 50BPM. Highly disappointed.

Battery life is 2 weeks! Durable, comfortable, just what I needed. It does take a while to operate this button driven device. Limited help online but after a couple weeks I'm comfortable with it. The accompanying app is really good.
