Just Off The Boat - Yakov Smirnoff - DVD

This is a very very good show to see as a reminder of why Ukraine is fighting so hard to keep their freedom. Yakov is from Ukraine - before it separated from the Soviet Union. Sometimes we Americans forget how lucky we are. Seeing ourselves and our culture through his eyes, and seeing some snippets of the world he came from is just what the doctor ordered - and a good reminder that if we're not careful, we could end up making America way to much like the country he escaped. This guy is funny. It's nice to see this clean, old show again. Thank you, Yakov, for keeping us laughing - and thinking - and grateful!

Not only is this video funny, it is 100% family friendly. It also shows, through his performance, that Yakov Smirnoff is the kind of man that truly loves America. America needs more people like him, no matter where they are from. Thank you, Mr. Smirnoff, you are an example of what young people should pattern themselves after...to understand and love the freedoms we are blessed with.

I Think This Is The One I Probably Heard While On A Bus Trip...But There Was Something Missing...I Can't Quite Put MyHands On It.....Oh Well Count It As A Senior Moment....

it's the same "what a country" schtick from the 80s. a good chunk of the show is just (lame) questions from the (elderly, like, did they bus in a retirement home?) audience.the routine is basically clean, america loving, and mediocre funny. maybe 4 stars if that is your bag. i like a bit more edge.

I purchased this DVD after viewing the DVD "For as long as we both shall laugh". I really liked this DVD so much that I ordered a second DVD for a friend who appreciates Yakov Smirnoff's humor as much as I do. Both DVDs arrived quickly and in excellent condition. So glad I found this man who shares his humor in a very patriotic way for all ages of audiences. I hope to go see him in Branson, MO at Christmas. Highly recommend this DVD.

This is the highest rating I can give Yakov. He is the number one comedian that I have ever listened to. Anyone can listen to him and not be offended by any of his comedy. His language is clean and we can listen to him as a family and enjoy a hearty laugh. Very relaxing time spent listening to Yakov. Best comedian we have ever heard and enjoyed as much. Very touched by his life story.
