Worth watching

Very good movie adapted from a Stephen King story. I never read the book but we told me this one wasnt really worth reading because it was way too long for nothing and not "as good" as his other stories. After seeing the movie i can say that i understand this must've been a very long and confusing story but as you'll notice in the other reviews here, the movie is different, not as "long for nothing" and more straight to the point (as most SK movie adaptations).So for anyone that might've been interested in the story but never did due to the reviews or the lenght of the story, i would say get the DVD instead of reading the book. You'll get the idea. I really had fun watching this, it was what i expected from a SK movie adaptation, King' story telling is brilliant, this story was extremely well written, going deep in backgrounds and details without loosing the main course. You get to care about the characters and you want to know what will happen and how it will end. Even Though the total running time is 163 Minutes,i found it was good and very entertaining from beginning to end. I can also say that i wasnt able to predict anything in this story,i had a few ideas of how the plot would evolve after a certain point but it turned out i was wrong,the movie kept surprising me and i think its a good thing.The story follows bestselling novelist Mike Noonan, who tragically loses his wife after an accident. Now struggling to keep writing novels and staying sane, Noonan is retreating to the old lake house he had with his wife, seeking peace and answers. He will soon discover that his wife still has something to tell him.....Photography/Cinematography was just perfect. Special effects were really good too. Pierce Brosnan is really good in the main role and Melissa George is a real eye candy.Highly recommended for any SK fans and/or horror fan. its not really gory, its more of a thriller with some nice horror twists! I wasnt disapointed and neither should you.ENJOY!!!!

Classic King, another book that I have not read in a long time, don't know if Hollywood ruined the ending or not. They have a tendency to muck up the endings, like the Stand, and many others

This is one of Stephen King's better stories. He has so many great stories he's written. This one takes place mostly with just the one actor Pierce Brosnan. To be honest, I would have liked to have seen more of Annabeth Gish and Peter McNeil in the story, but that was not to be. The story is about the sudden loss of his wife and her return as a ghostly entity along with other ghosts. There is a great deal of loneliness to this film and you feel really sorry for the main character. There is also a driving force that leads to a fine Stephen King ending, an ending with a bit of an unexpected, though the only way the story could have gone, ending. I won't give away any spoilers. You will have to invest in the movie to see for yourself. I will just say that the story has really made me think about how I would handle things if I suddenly lost my wife. I can only hope better than this poor guy. I highly recommend this movie. Doubly so if you are a Stephen King fan. Watch for the mention of a Bachman book, Stephen Kings pen name for a different series of books he wrote between 1977 and 1984 as Richard Bachman, two of which became excellent movies "Thinner and The Running Man".Ralph.

This is not an original concept of course, but it is very will executed. Often times Stephen King movies don't have a happy ending, we don't always need happy endings, that's not real life, but, this one, fortunately does. I agree that our star does a great job of portraying a grieving widower, helping his expired wife solve the mystery. I am not a huge fan of this actor, so to say that I really think he was outstanding, is quite a compliment. Pierce Brosnan is apparently one of those actors that with age and maturity, is more real, more complex, less looks and more substance. This movie kept me watching, to the point that I was waiting for what happened next. An outstanding movie, to say the least. We find ourselves watching this movie often. We have almost every Stephen King movie and we think this is among the best. I love movies that have veteran actors in them. In this one we have William Shallert, this guy has had so many roles, it is a pleasure to see him, in this movie, his last role in a movie.

Stephen King fan, must buy.

I have always loved the imagination of Stephen King and this series on A&E called the "Bag of Bones" relates to what I had been through with the loss of the only man I have ever loved. The thinking they are there in a room with you or they have sent you a sign telling you how to handle their passing. Pierce Bronson is perfect in the role and the rest of cast was chosen well. That is one thing I like about Stephen King he does not let Hollywood or Television change his stories they are just like the books he writes. Wonderful Series and I intend to buy it to see them all on my laptop to know how it ends is what makes King a great writer, as you never know how he will end his stories. Great work this series is by a wonderful writer of so much that a world enjoys the challenge of how the story proceeds and ends. This is a very slow moving 2 parter by Stephen King. It is quirky, spooky, the character's are weird a and wonderful disparate lot. HOWEVER, it is very long winded and l would say the last is excellent, as this is where you piece together the whole story. Watch it and see. Be prepared to rose off during the first 2 hours of it.

Unsurprisingly, the plot of the feature is what sets it apart due to its basis from Stephen King's book by the same name. Aside from a few modifications, the plot follows that of the book - a recipe for success in itself. Pierce Brosnan doesn't provide a career best performance, but he plays his part believably and is more than watchable. For me the only weakness is the cinematography which at times seems a little too dynamic and moving for its own good as I feel the feature would benefit from some more still-action shots.

Possibly the most accurate on screen adaptation of Stephen King'size novels. Major characters are well casted and most of the key events are in the film. There is more as a fan of the book that could have been done but I understand that on a certain level there is only so much you can out in a series. Possibly one of my favourite films ever!

Bag of Bones [DVD] [2011] I hadn't seen this TV two part film before & I bought on DVD after reading good reviews about online & also as I really like Stephen King stories! It is a great scary movie! Not one to watch alone late at night! He He. Bag Of Bones is as good as The Shinning for getting in to your mind & keep you on edge of your seat! ;-)

I have read the book twice and loved it so had to have the film. Its a great film but I would read the book first as more detail in the book but I will be watching this again.
