Style Wins This Round...
NOTE: this is a review for the LARGE bag, there are two different sizesI got this because it looked so cute and seemed to have great potential in terms of functionality. It arrived and was much larger than I thought -- about the size of a regular backpack, just a different shape. I immediately tested its capacity and found it could hold everything -- date book, kindle, a couple 3 subject notebooks, my LARGE (17"?) laptop, my wristlet, and so much more! I own an Ogio regular backpack and it seems this brand is very high quality with great attention to details and practical use. What I Love* Color: the green is just like it looks on my screen, a dark kelly green -- not pine green. fabric is similar to a backpack* Style: Very stylish with the buttons on the one side and the sash around the top. Not a huge fan of the dots on the handle, but its nice to have a lighter interior in the bag itself* Padding: VERY WELL padded all around, I have no worries about my PC in here (it DOES fit securely inside the bag, all the way, and I can close the tab so its secure in its pocket)! Smaller pockets on the sides are lined in a felt-like material which is nice.* Sections: Lots and lots of places to put things, and they're labeled in case you're not quite sure what to do with it. Also a realistic number and size of holders for writing utensils (5 or 6!!)* Outer Zipped Pocket: hold tablets, money, pens, etc. I LIKE that its on "back side" of the bag, no worries about being pick-pocketed like I would with a backpack* Sturdiness: I'm tough on bags and I think this one is up for the test! All of the edges are well-finished and the seams are well-doneWhat I Wish Were Better* The straps are a bit short for me...I do have larger arms, so I realize that's a factor. Its okay now during the warmer months but I may need a new plan come winter (bulky coat)...I may take the sash from around the top and use some of that material to extend the handles* Side pockets do NOT fit larger smartphones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it fit for the width well enough but it sticks out about 1/2 way. Not secure...and if it were to rain, it would definitely get wet (I love the waterproof phone pocket feature in my Ogio backpack, wish they did this on all bags!)* Definitely holds all I need for work and grad school, but it gets HEAVY! My laptop is fairly heavy, but because of the weight distribution in my backpack I don't feel it. You will definitely feel it in this bag. I guess that's my justification to get my new, lighter weight laptop! :-)* When its full pops off my arm, but again if its that full I probably am carrying more than I need to and should lighten my load. The good definitely outweighs the not so good on this one, so I'm keeping it. Style wins this round, but practicality may take over once winter comes and I need to be comfortable and able to balance easily.

Perfect ... after a few critical hacks
Found this bag in my search for a purse-looking tote big (but also small) enough to fit my 13" laptop. The size is perfect; I carry the laptop, a small purse (abt 8"x5"), my bullet journal/diary, and maybe a few papers. The bag functions well (I love the shape AND the outside pocket on the non-button side) and the fabric (mine is a dark grey/black) is attractive but rugged. Minus stars for one critical design flaw: the ornamental buttons, which are sewn into the front like a regular button, pull loose and pop off too easily for a tote. One popped off when the tote rubbed up against car seat as I pulled tote up from passenger side (car) floor; another popped off as I lifted the bag from between two chairs at a conference; a third loosened after getting caught on my the side pocket zipper of my parka. Only takes one missing to detract from professional appearance. Because the buttons are purely ornamental but essential to the look, Ogio should WELD those bad boys flush against bag AND affix at least 2 spares inside. IF YOU GET THIS BAG: HACK #1 - using glue or needle/thread, *secure those buttons.* HACK#2 - put a stitch or two to secure the knot in the sash because hard to recreate once untied by, say, idle hands of a small child.

Best bag ever!
This has been the best bag I have ever purchased. Everything was clearly thought out with the design of this bag. When I use it for everyday use, I put my laptop in the main compartment, a book, an umbrella, my purse and other odds and ends. I love that I can keep my cell phones and other small electronic devices in the larger outside pocket. When I use this bag for traveling it always seems to hold everything I need and holds up great. The best feature for me is the little pockets on the outside. I take public transportation everyday to and from work. I can keep my train pass in that little pocket. No one sees the pass but I can easily get it out as I'm walking up to the turn styles. I can also put it back away with ease. The little tab that goes over the pocket is very secure and is attached in a way that I can easily put stuff in and out but I never worry something is going to fall out. I have had this bag for a very long time (year and half which is a lifetime longer than any other laptop bag) and it has held up beautifully. There is no visible wear and tear and the inside stays fairly clean due to the material. My only regret with this bag is that I went the comfortable/sensible route and ordered the brown bag which I thought would look more professional and go with everything. I really think I should have gotten the red or teal bag. Either color would have looked just as professional and would have made my commuting look a bit more vibrant.

Nice but wasn't perfect for me
This is my second OGIO back and my first one lasted 4 years and not one rip or tear. Exceeded all of my expectations. Was excited to purchase this bag for a different option not going on my back. It is built very sturdy and looks great. Further than that, it's eh. It fits a lot of flat things but not my lunchbox with a couple books. I do wish it had a water bottles sleeve to keep it upright in the bag so I don't worry about it tipping. I also wish there were a phone pocket option as its not quite right for the accessories area. The side pockets are so right I do not use them at all. It tips over all the time. The worst part however is the straps are too short for me. Both don't stay on my arm so all the weight is put into one strap while the other sticks out. I use this as a school bag. I think it would work splendidly for lighter use. It is still a very sturdily made, great looking bag. Marine for someone with smaller arms as I can use one arm to put it on. I have to thread my arm through and pull it up using my hand. But I give it 4 still because it's so nice and could be great for some uses.

Wrong interior pattern
I love the bag but hate the interior pattern. The one they sent me was a Polkadot pattern and made it look like a diaper bag. That was not the pattern in the picture

Not as shown in picture.
I own several Ogio bags and love them all. Was really excited to get this one for work but ended up sending it back. The bag is not as pictured and had loose, fabric covered buttons instead of the metal ones. I felt they made it look cheap. Super disappointed as I love my other Ogio bags.
