Truly red
I bought this to dye a new swimsuit. When the suit arrived it was more of a coral red and not a true red. I went to Jaquard's site for detailed dying instructions and the fire red did just the trick! My cute new 2-piece is now perfectly red! The color came out evenly and true to color chip in my opinion. Admittedly I've only worn it to lay out in the sun so far, but it hasn't faded or left any coloring on my skin, and it has been washed several times. Also, it did not bleed onto any of my other clothes in the wash.

Just buy it, put it on every animal fiber you can find
Utterly gorgeous color, couldn't be more happy with this. Like most secondaries, this requires a bit more dye by weight than primaries for full color saturation, but it's no biggie and the results are beautiful. Jacquard's website has a document which shows full saturation percentages for each color. This dye allows a wide range of color variation for those ombre skeins and pairs fantastically with Jet Black and Purple as tints or coordinating colors.

Pricey but worth it, a perfect red for dyeing wool and alpaca, silk too
I use this shade of red very often. I use acid dye (activated by the mordant you choose, acidic like household vinegar or powdered citric acid, the main ingredient of kool-aid.) to custom color my fibers for spinners. This shade, Fire Red, is indispensable. I also use the Country Classics brand of dye, but for a nice warm tomato red, I add this color by Jacquard. The only reason that I'm giving this less than five stars is the price. I can easily use up half of this size container when mixing up my dye stock. I also use kool-aid and Wilton's gel colors for my acid dyeing. (This type of preparation works best with protein fibers like wool and silk, and it does a beautiful job on undyed firestar (superfine nylon, adds a bit of sparkle). You can use the "acid" dyes like this one for other fibers too. Just change your mordants to those compatible with plant fibers like cotton and linen. (Instead of vinegar or citric acid, use a small amount of soda ash.) My other tip is this: try dyeing your wool top or roving in a very low oven. I soak my wool in lukewarm water with just a few drops of blue Dawn dish soap. Squeeze out only the excess water, it's important to keep the fiber wet. The dye travels much faster through wet fiber free of lanolin (alpaca doesn't have any). I apply my dyestock, wrap my fibers in heavy plastic wrap and then heavy aluminum foil. Bake in a big casserole dish, covered, in 225 degree oven for one hour, 90 minutes max. Allow the wrapped fibers to cool very slowly, then rinse very gently. My wool stays incredibly soft.

Not Salmon!
After prepping fiber for over a month, washing, combing ,carding I was so excited to dye my merino wool. A beautiful Salmon cor was exactly what I was looking for to blend in some Alpaca grey. This dye is GD hot pink, not Salmon. Not even a pretty hot pink, but a hideous cheap hooker hot pink. A months work put in trash barrel. This dye is a front to the color spectrum.

Perfect!
Outside of the fact that Ritz dye has become impossible to find around my area and it was hard to apportion when coloring real tiny items, these Jacquard Acid dyes seem to be more intense, do not smell and don't bleed at all. I am only dying thin strings of wool to use as wrist wear, can only find them in Kabbala red which isn't where we're at but I found some white wool thread that just needed to be dyed the right color. I received my Brilliant Blue almost overnight (love instant gratification) and immediately tried coloring a thread, too dark, use less powder. The next string was perfect. The powder should last forever since I only used less than a pinch. I have a violet coming this week. Makes me feel so creative!

Nice Shade Of Red, But Not Exactly Colorfast
I wanted to turn a pair of off-white compression leggings into a nice red, and after a lot of looking I decided to go with scarlet. This shade of red was exactly what I wanted, but after numerous washings they still bleed like a proverbial stuck pig, so I have to hand wash them separately. A minor inconvenience, but I also dyed these same leggings with jet black, and they did not bleed after the initial wash. Hopefully, the bleeding will soon abate so I don't end up with pink leggings.

I love Jacquard acid dyes
I love Jacquard acid dyes. This is the primary yellow I use in all my wool dyeing; it is vibrant and offers good saturation. I mix all my dyes into water when I get them, that way I have dye solution ready to go. It's easier for me to store and measure liquid than these fine powders, since I don't own a $3000 scale that can accurately weigh them. Of the five colors I have in solution right now, yellow most noticeably precipitates when it's sitting. It's fine, if I slowly heat the jar it'll go back into solution easily and continue to deliver a great color.

Not red after dried more a brick brown is red
This red is not a true red once it is dry it turns a brick red brownish very ugly color in my opinion. If you are looking for a bright red do not purchase this color.

Five Stars
My favourite brand for acid dyes. This one is a very strong blue, so use sparingly.

dyetastic
loved how the color turned out just a note though don't let the cloths stay in the pot to cool down as it cools a film formed over the top and stuck to the cloths that was touching the top of the water and not all came off I would take it out of the pot and let it cool. other than that excellent die loved it
