Hard to believe that it is THIS good!
Our family has a saying "if we wash the dishes really well before putting them in the dishwasher, they'll come out clean". So true. Everything was always rinsed and scrubbed before going in. Then liquid detergent was added and the dishwasher run.I just could not get our ten year-old dishwasher to perform well. I eventually watched YouTube videos and took apart the insides of our dishwasher. I disassembled everything to determine why it wasn't cleaning well. Twice. Put it all back together. Filters were cleaned, arms all moved, checked where the spray was going, checked the inside of the water conduits. Nothing helped, all seemed ok. So, it was time to buy a new dishwasher. I gave up and went shopping. While checking prices, features, and ratings on dishwashers, this thread popped up. I thought "no way". But for this much money, why not try it? It's a lot less money and hassle than buying a new dishwasher. So keep shopping for a dishwasher but throw in an order for this. When the product arrived, I quickly tried it on half of a load of dishes, expecting no good result. Maybe I could use the product with the new dishwasher later, whatever. Opened the dishwasher. Everything was sparkling clean! I think my jaw dropped. Even the "test knives" I'd put in covered with margarine were perfect. Huh?! That had certainly never happened before!Had to be a fluke. I still didn't believe it. So, enforcing a "scrape don't rinse" rule, over the next day or so we loaded up the dishwasher again with VERY dirty dishes. Got several disapproving looks from my wife. Promised to take it all out, rinse/wash everything, and put it back if this didn't work. Plus, it was hard to break our old habit of washing the dishes first so that they'd come out clean. These had dried on foods, cake, eggs, more margarine, etc. Along with her, I'm also thinking that there's no way this will work.I have to admit that this morning I expected the dishes to at least be somewhat dirty when I opened the dishwasher. This was really pushing the limits in a machine that hadn't cleaned well in years. Opened it and - the plates, cups, wine glasses, and utensils were all perfect. In fact, better than they've ever looked (some things are clean that had been stained for years). Coffee stains came out of coffee cups that I would've have to work very hard with a scrubber to remove.I am blown away. If your dishwasher isn't cleaning well, and you use liquid detergent but can't find a physical reason, this might be worth trying. Even as I'm writing this I still can't quite believe it.What a GREAT product!

No nasty scent! Cleans brilliantly!
I recently switched from Cascade platinum to Finish 0% because I have many silicone utensils and microwave covers and all of them started smelling and tasting (as I discovered when I taste tested from a silicone spoon) just like the Cascade Platinum pods. Yuck!I was horrified when I realized it and checked every silicone item in my kitchen and yep, everything had that same nasty scent! I stir delicate sauces and eggs with those utensils and the utensils aren't cheap! Plus if I can smell it and taste it then there was chemical residue leaching into my food!I kept the pods under the sink and everything under there smelled bad too. I actually had a bag of dog treats under there I had to throw out. I don't know if Cascade changed the chemicals they use but I hadn't noticed it being as bad as that before, but I will never go back!I tried a number of different pods, natural and not so natural and many of them just didn't work, admittedly Cascade Platinum did a great (but stinky) job! I found that these Finish 0% were absolutely the best, and cleaned every bit as well as the Cascade Platinum and no nasty scent! Plus after a couple of washes my silicone items don't smell or taste of chemicals anymore.I gave my Cascade pods and rinse aid away.I also switched my rinse aid and will separately review that too.I am extremely pleased with these pods and have been using them for a couple of months now and the performance is great and no nasty smell! If this review has been helpful please click the helpful button and check out my other reviews. I post a lot of cookbook, kitchen equipment and ingredient reviews. I am obsessed with all things kitchen and will buy 8 different lemon zesters just to find the best. Great Price Point.
The price point is great on these and they really do clean your dishes. However I have one slight problem is that they leave white sticky soap residue on my glass dishware. I have been starting a second rinse on my dishwasher settings or rinsing my glassware by hand, drying them and then putting them away.
