Amazing Easy to use
I started using soapnuts recently. My family and I have sensitive skin and allergies to certain ingredients found in commercial products.I have a HE laundry machine and the cubic size is over 4.0 and I don't have a water softener system installed in my home.I have to use 15 soapnuts and it gets the job done. I crack each one open to make sure there are no seeds (the shells are soft). Then I placed them in the pouch provided by the company. And add them in a small jar of hot pipe water, close and shake vigorously to loosen the sap inside the shells. To save money on gas, I wash my fabrics with cold water. Adding 15 soapnuts makes a world of difference in the wash compare to adding just 6. My laundry comes out clean and unscented. Great investment for me.

Not a good product for washing clothese
This product does not wash clothes properly at all. I might as well have washed the clothes without the soap nuts.

Just some info....
The few negative reviews regarding these soap nuts are unfortunately due to the buyer not having all the information. You want and should get only shells, no "nuts". The nuts/seeds are removed on purpose. It's only the shells that actually produce suds. Also, soap berries are activated by warm water. That's why you can leave them in the washer through the (cold) rince cycle. If you want to wash in cold water, you just have to do a few pre-steps. I love soap berries and have used them successfully for years. That being said, they are an all natural product, so they won't be as successful cleaning really grimy loads as typical chemical detergents. That's just logic. I simply add a booster etc. to really dirty loads, like my husband's work clothes and that solves the problem.
