STAEDTLER 14610C Design Journey Watercolour Pencils - Assorted Colours (Tin of 24)

I love them , remind me of old times ( good quality ,made in Germany)
They are very pigmented , brilliant colours. Affordable , you will find every colour in the cardboard box you will ever need . They are dryer as polychromos or arteza ,better than so many other pencils from the lower price range. Don’t forget the colour journey are Staedtlers affordable artist line. I never got debris on my paper with them. So , no smudges , really soft , mix incredible well , and layer ,and layer ,and layer........ only to change the pressure ever so lightly you can achieve amazing shadow effects. The only let down is this cardboard box. I filled mine in a pencil box. For ones also not something Chinese made with a horrible chemical stench which is never going away no matter how long the box stays open ,to get rid of the smell. They smell only woody and “schoolish” like my Goldfaber and Staedtler 60 years a go in every (child’s school bag) classroom in Germany . They are perfect for adult colouring books. Sadly there is no mention about their colour fastness. Also I had no breakage , the need less sharpening than any faber castell there is nothing to “ not like “ on this pencils . Apart from the box, but who keeps colouring pencils in a cardboard box.

Beautiful tin, beautiful colours, smooth pencils with fantastic watercolour effects!
I've been testing out more watercolour pencils lately as I am a traditional (non-digital) medium illustrator, and these are my absolute personal favourites so far.The colours really shine and become distinct once water is added; When dry, they settle onto the paper almost like a charcoal-graphite blend so be careful not to smear things too much or apply with a lighter pressure when drawing, but the pigment is truly fluid and smooth when used as watercolour. These are great for both drawing and painting, and I hope Staedtler never stops making these! The earth tones are gorgeous, and you can't beat this quality especially for this price range.Compared to Derwent: Equal if not better than Derwent Watercolour and Derwent Academy pencils; These are closer to Derwent Inktense pencils in terms of pigment and brightness.Compared to Windsor and Newton: Absolutely get these Staedtler pencils instead! The only downside is that if you wet the pencil tip directly for certain effects on the paper, you must let the tip fully dry before using it again regularly as the pigment is so smooth that it softens the tip and you may end up over sharpening your pencils (thus wearing them down sooner) if you sharpen it while damp or if you use the tip while dampened directly frequently. However, that is commonly the case with watercolour pencils in general and is not unique to these particular pencils, so I can't say it's a strike against Staedtler! Overall, these are vibrant and the quality is absolutely stellar.Personal ten out of ten, love these, and I hope they never run out of stock!

Excellent pencils
I haven't coloured in with pencils since I was a kid so I'm a complete noob but here's what I thought:Likes:1. They've converted me from colouring in with Staedtler pens to pencils.2. Loads of colours (some are very similar).3. Sharpen easily.4. Seem to layer nicely.Dislikes:1. It's really hard to get the pencils out of the box so I needed to purchase a pencil case, in hindsight I probably should have gone for the pencils with the tin with the removable trays which was slightly cheaper but this product had better reviews.

Excellent value for money
These pencils are extremely easy to use, highly pigmented and fantastic to blend. I've used Faber Castell Polychromos, and prefer the Staedtler. Lovely colours, blending is easy, and cheap as well. I'll be using these as my primary pencils from now on.

Best pencils ever
These are the best pencil brand I have ever used. I have brought the 24 and 32 pack from the STAEDTLER 185 Noris range but wanted more colours to work with. I saw these and was dubious about buying them as I knew the pencils I liked, but so glad I did buy these, not only do I get more colours but same quality I'm used to. Would highly recommend these pencils to anyone who loves colouring over the age of 13+ I wouldn't buy these for my youngest who's 6 or my eldest who's 11 as they have a habit of dropping pencils or over sharpening their pencils, but as they get older they will get to experience these too.

My go to pencils
I originally bought the 72 set of these pencils last year. Over time the most used colours have become smaller so this was a good way to ensure I have back-ups. I have purchased several other sets of different pencils since I began colouring but I always get drawn back to these. Lovely range of colours, no breakage problems and good value for money.

Good value soft crayons
Bought these for my daughter who likes colouring for relaxation and she was delighted with how easy they are to hold and how soft they are. I found them good value for the money.

Ok pencils
These are unusual pencils, and some nice colours for graphite tones. They layer up nicely for darker shades and adding water is a nice touch to pull the colour out and blend nicely. Pleased with them overall
