I've been married for almost 26 years. That's before cell phones existed and the internet was very very new. (Yikes.) I've never done online dating. And yet I'm a therapist working with quite a few women who are doing online dating and I wanted to figure out how better to support and help them! I am SO thankful for this book. It is going to help me to be able to understand my clients better and it will help me to point them to practical tools, facts to help them feel more normal, and excellent spiritual truths to center and ground them. This book is funny, relatable, challenging, and includes really important deeper questions to reflect on. Even the fact that only 10% of messages on dating apps will get a response is helping me to encourage my clients in what is normal and not personal to them! I appreciated the focus on prayer and I LOVE the focus on worthiness, and the challenges to the lies that so many of us believe. What an excellent, useful and hopeful book. Just started online dating and the first relationship was wrong on many levels, but a positive learning experience in the end. Reeling from that experience this book was a welcome comfort in what to look for and avoid in the future, as well as to hold my head up and realize I am worth the wait to find the right man. So encouraging and the humor takes the sting out of the mistakes ~ thanks Margot!

I loved this book. It is a must read for anyone who is dating. Even though the subject is online dating and the author geared the book towards women, there are universal truths for any method of dating as well as truths that men need to hear. I love that the author based it upon Christian Principles as well. As I read the book, I laughed, I gasped with astonishment, and I cried. I eagerly turned the pages to learn more. Bravo to the author!

Worth the read. Prepares you for what you could be letting yourself in for.

I’ve been on an online dating “sabbatical” for two years. What was happening before never seemed to work and I didn’t understand what was happening. Enter The Grown Woman’s Guide to Online Dating. This book is easy to read and chock full of useful tidbits. I don’t know if I am ready yet to jump back in, but when and until I do, centering my search for a mate around god will alleviate many of the stresses I felt previously. Thank you Margot for the truth upon which you build this book. I feel like a more whole person after reading it.

I am a married woman, yet read this book so I could be a better friend and neighbor to the many people I know who are navigating the gifts and challenges of online dating. Read this book to laugh (Margot is hilarious!!!), to gain wisdom for the journey, and most of all to feel less alone in the unfolding of your personal life story or those of people you love. Starting with a foundation that you are absolutely loved by God, this book provides thoughtful, insightful and practical advice on how to navigate the world of online dating. But it is so much more and goes so much deeper, as the author combines data, personal experience and the experience of others to delve into the thoughts and emotions that are naturally a part of seeking meaningful relationships. And it is presented in such an engaging and humorous way!

I enjoyed the advice but especially loved the author's stories of her own experiences on dating sites. As she had experience on 16 different sites, would have loved a recap of the strengths and weaknesses she might have seen at each, but perhaps that is beyond the scope of this book. Loved the discussion of taking a sabbath from the constant urge to check responses. This is a great resource for adult women entering the online dating world.
