Works!
Didn't use this with the first dog but decided with my new dobe puppy to try. I had ghetto rigged a bell to the slider but he kept knocking it off. Thus works good. I had to fishtail the loop on go the handle of the slider since it isn't a knob. I take it with me when I travel to the lake house too. It's saved a lot of accidents! He learned right away. And aside from a few snags on the fabric it works fine.

Best house training investment I ever made.
I was having marginal success with potty training until I ordered this product. The bell turned potty time into a game. My puppy figured out very quickly that a jingle meant that we would go outside.Pros: The product is fairly attractive. It's not going to win the praise of Martha Stewart, but it does the job and it isn't hideous. We have not had an accident since using it. Puppy does not need to bark or scratch at the door, so barking and damage to the house has been minimized.Cons: The product discolors when puppy bites the fabric. I could care less, but I could see some people being bothered by this. Also, puppy rings that damn bell every chance he gets. However, I would rather take him outside and then immediately back inside when he rings it, than have to spend ten minutes scrubbing the carpet.Overall, I call this product a win. I am glad I broke down and ordered it, and I would highly recommend bell training to any pet parent.

Great product - works like a charm
Our dog started using bell within days. No barking, no door scratching. Perfect. The only complaint is I wish it were longer. We didn't want to hang it from the doorknob or it would make noise every time we went in or out. We had to tie to extra cord to hang it from the hook next to the door.

It works.....almost too well.
The item looks just like the picture. I have mine hung on our patio sliding door handle. The first time I used it my puppy didn’t like the sound. After about a week of training, she was all about it. Now she uses when she needs to go out.And that is the problem! She rings this bell which is nice and loud ANYTIME she wants to go out, even if she is just board or sees something she wants to go look at!While this product is awesome, I’m really thinking about taking it down.Loud enough I can hear it in any room in the house as long as I’m not blasting music or have a movie turn up too much. If you are on the same floor in an open area, then you should have zero problems hearing it.I have no issues with the product, how much my dog uses it is another story!

The best dog door bells I've found
I'm ordering a replacement for this dog door bell (after over a year, with the dog gnawing on them occasionally, they don't look too good although they still work). I originally ordered two - this one from Yellow Dog Design and another from Poochie Bells, and hung one on each side of the back door. This one works better because the bells are audible from anywhere in the house and make a pleasant sleigh bell kind of sound. The other ones have a duller tone which doesn't carry well and is less pleasant, which is why I'm reordering the Yellow Dog Design bells. The celtic pattern is very pretty but this time I'm also trying the "best dog ever" pattern as well. And they're made in the USA!

I can only give it 5 stars coz i cant give it 10
My dog is a pomapoo teacup, only 5lbs and shes small and have 5 cats.At first i thought the bells were small because they look small in the picture. And i thought it was too short ans my dog couldn't reach it. But when it arrived, the bells are large size and it makes a sound with the lightest touch. My dog can reach it, if only i could attached a picture with this comment. My cats plays with it too and it can surely wake me up when the cats starts pushing it with their paws. I love it and the quality is beautiful , love the celtic design and if you are a wiccan or pagan and loves celtic designs, this is perfect for you.

Not long enough for a pug puppy to reach.
I got this to potty train a pug puppy. I had to add some rope to it to get it to reach the floor from the doorknob so our puppy could reach it. It does work though. The pug has been hitting it when she wants to go outside now.

Yellow CAT Design Ding CAT Bell! Yep, works for cats too!
These bells on ribbons are amazing! I bought these bells a couple of years ago and hung them from the handle on my sliding glass door. My cat has learned to ring the bells with his nose when he wants to go out and sit on the back porch. Today I am actually looking for a second set to hang on the bedroom door. I hope the cat will ring the bell when he wants into the master bedroom rather than shredding up the carpet outside the door.I highly recommend these bells to both CAT and dog owners.
