What fun this is!
Great resource. Just returned from China and Hong Kong. Wish I had had the book before I went. Ashneil was a wonderful shopping mecca that I found from a friend. Lo and behold, the book names it number 2! Wow, did I get lucky. AGain, great shopping resource.

for the beginner
Maybe I shop too much, but I was disappointed that there was not more original/off-beat advice. It might be more efficient than a search-engine for the novice, but for a serious shopper, it will simply confirm a lot of what you already know.

Shopping!
I love shopping, what can I say. The book is glossy and fun and pretty and even if I never really use it, I love having it on my desk "just in case".

What a joke
I have never spent the time or hassle to return something to Amazon, but after going through this book for a couple days, it went back faster than a snagged sweater. To double check that I was giving this book a fair chance, I turned to some of the destinations or categories I'm really well versed in and the advice and selection of information was very lacking in quantity and quality. If you really have no idea where to buy lingere or a handbag, this book may be helpful for you. But for the 98% of people that have eyes to see the world around them or could do 10 minutes of easy research online, or ask a local or hotel clerk where a certain type of store is, there is nothing in this book that is so special to warrant the purchase. Actually, even is someone gave me this book for free I don't think I'd use it.
