Want to go and visit now
This is a wonderful show. Robson Green's compassion for his home county is so apparent and contagious I wanted to make plans to go visit right away. I don't think they could have chosen a better representative for Northumberland than Robson. Besides him showing some of the beautiful sites of his home area. It also made me open up my eyes about the area I live in right now. I am starting slow and going on walks at some of the areas in my county I have never before explored. So this program has been influential in more than 1 way. I can highly recommend this program. If you planning on visiting Northumberland this will give you some very good starting points and if you can't visit there, it really encourages you to look around your own surroundings and maybe start there!

Robson Green - perfect host for a magical journey
Loved this series. I just wish they would release the subsequent ones as you can’t get them anymore. Robson Green’ narrative is witty, entertaining and informative. My father comes from Northumberland so I spent many holidays in the area as a child. Robson’s programmes reminded me of the many hidden gems of the county as well as showing me some new ones. Holidays in Northumberland for my family again!

tales from Northumberland with Robson Green
it was as expected and enjoyable, but would have been improved if it had not still been in episodes, but flowed through. Never the less it was what I wanted, to send to a relative from Northumberland now living in Australia

Tales from Northumberland
My family moved to Australia in 1961, we are all from Northumberland. I was born in Keilder and my father, who worked in the forests in the Keilder area, and brothers were born in Hexham, my sisters were born in the area too. Robson brought great delight and happiness for all of my siblings as we were able to experience Robson's passion for Northumberland. We loved the dvd and hope that Robson will do another with the same passion and love for the region he obviously enjoys. We were living in Hexham before moving to Australia and we have cousins still living in the area who we have been able to visit in the past 10 years. Thank you Robson for the memories.

Too much fun!
I've taken the train from London to Edinburgh many times and have always loved the scenery above Newcastle. Then I got hooked on "Vera" and "George Gently" and Kevin Whately's accent, never realizing what they held in common. Basically this American who loves to travel in Great Britain knew nothing about Northumberland and it took Robson Green to show me what was already holding my attention. I've watched this three times because I'm making plans to travel there to Northumberland. More fun than a Rick Steves' program and he's quite good. But then Robson Green is truly fun. Send him more places!

Robson Green Tales fom Northumberland
A delightful series which provides useful information about my native Northumberland and for individuals who have never visited this scenic and historic part of Great Britain to tour what once was named the Debatable Lands, site of so much historic rivalry and conflict with the characteristic protective Peel Towers and beautiful scenery and the views and tales about sacred places like Holy Island and Saints of old like St Cuthbert and the Venerable Bede who wrote one of the first Histories of the English Speaking People. Scholars travelled from Europe to Monkwearmouth, Jarrow and Tynemouth to these ancient centres of learning.

Could have been superb.
Very interesting show, somewhat spoilt by Robson Green's presence, if you can look past that it is very enjoyable.Takes you all over Northumberland, which is a diverse and beautiful county.

An excellently produced and presented series.
I would recommend this DVD to anyone with a love of Northumberland, and a wish to have more of an insight into what makes, and has made, this beautiful county tick. Robson Green's interviewing technique is so easy, and he palpably conveys his abiding love for all things Northumbrian. We bought a copy for ourselves, and one each for our boys to show their children what a wonderful inheritance they have, especially as they live far away from here.

The beauty and history of northern UK
The devilishly charming Robson Green presents an educational program about his home county of Northumberland. Green explores natural and historical landmarks and interviews local experts making for a very interesting, informative show. Many of the guests (and the host) reflect on the culture of the northeast and share their memories. It's almost a shame this is only DVD quality instead of blu-ray because of the sweeping shots of gorgeous landscapes, starry night skies, and Robson Green posing. Please remember this is a region 2 PAL DVD that will not play in most US DVD players.
