Amazing amp, very impressive even with my relatively cheap speakers
I mainly listen to music in my home office. I previously had a Denon/Mission surround setup for gaming but over the years moved to stereo front speakers with a sub and an Arcam DAC. My speakers are Mission bookshelf speakers sitting on stands about ear height on my desk with limited rear space. My Denon amp died, so I temporarily used an old mid price Onkyo AV amp, until I decided to buy this amp. What a wonderful decision I made, I always liked the Denon/Mission combo, but compared with that set up this Cambridge Audio amp is an entirely different level. I'm astonished how much more it gets from these relatively cheap speaker. I'd previously purchased Kef LS50 Wireless but returned them after they sounded awful in my room, very clinical with no warmth and lacking in midrange, this amp/speaker/sub setup sounds amazing by comparison. I mainly listen to classic rock, pop, acoustic and vocal type music, and this amp provides wonderful clarity and detail, but never sounds harsh, fatiguing or cold. I'd say vocals do sound a little forward, but to me that's great, there's literally words and voices in songs that I don't think I've ever heard before, guitars sounds like guitars and pianos sound like pianos. I read that this works well with most quality of music, and I'd agree to a point, unlike my HD650 headphone setup which makes poorly recorded music sound unlistenable, this isn't as fussy, however you can still clearly tell if something has been recorded well or not. It also clearly highlights the difference between compressed and lossless music, in fact I moved my streaming from Apple to Amazon which made a substantial difference for some music (Apple doesn't support lossless via a PC connected DAC). The only minor negative I have is that the remote volume control is to quick, making it difficult to turn the volume up or down by small increments. I was tempted to get the 81 instead of the 61, but after reading reviews this sounded more like the type of sound I'd like. Overall a wonderful purchase and I don't think I'll ever go back to an AV amp for my main music listening.

Great amp - one of the best at this price point
Bought this after lot of research to find an upgrade for a NAD C320 BEE. Installation was breeze, sounds is clear and crips on an oldish pair of JBL 100... buying also 2 of Audioquest Rocket 11 Bi-wire Speaker Cable 2 Metre White Single Length Terminated With 2x Gold Plated 4mm Banana Plugs Amplifier End To 4x Gold Plated to go with it. I will upgrade the speakers at some point, but the difference from the NAD amp is already very noticeable. The DAC that is integrated certainly makes a big difference. Some say it sounds even better than the CXA81... The Bluetooth support is also a great feature, I can enjoy my Spotify songs on good speakers now instead of the small one in the kitchen... Very happy so far, great build quality, great price point, definitely recommended.

First Class Amplifier
This is a fantastic amplifier - sounds great, tonally rich and detailed with great clarity and lots of power (and with plenty in reserve). It has an excellent full sized (well built and thought out) remote control. Fantastic balance across the sound spectrum - deep bass, clear midrange and sweet treble - a real presence in the sound. It's the kind of product that you might think 'should I buy one at this price?' Well yes, you should and I doubt you'll regret it. It'll be a source of music pleasure for many years!

Lack of controls for sound.
Sounds great and good connectivity. Just no way to control bass and treble.Nice amp.

A thing of beauty.
A thing of beauty and sounds exceptional driving a pair of Revel M16s. Well worth the cash IMO as I can't see any reason this won't last a lifetime.Remote control is a bit on the busy side but it's no great shakes and if you were to purchase more of their complementary components it would operate the lot.

Annoying volume control
It's a great amp but the annoying thing is the remote. Once you're settled and the music is playing you essentially only need to raise or lower the volume. The volume is a little too quiet say, so you hit the increase volume button. Now it's too loud. Hit the decrease volume. You guessed .. too quiet. Not enough gradation in the control. Very irritating, so much so that tonight I ordered another amp!

High quality product
I chose this as it was What Hi Fi amp of the year 2020 and I bought the matching CD player. It is built like a tank, very heavy and looks great. It is very simple, you get 2 digital input ports for optical cables and 4 analogue phono ports. It has a volume knob and a switch to select 2 speaker outputs. On the remote, you can select any input and turn it on/off. That is it. No bass, treble. I missed these options at first but actually it is ok. But you do need good speakers that dont need the bass / treble tweaked. Sounds great to me and 1/3 volume is very loud.

Well built, great sound, amazing piece of kit.
Talk about another level. I replaced by Rotel RA-10 with this amp and the difference is astounding. The sound is fantastic, no wonder it got 5 stars in What HiFi. The bluetooth function is great and the remote is nice too. Does require a pre-amp for a TT (unless you have one built into your TT) but I teamed this up with the Alva Duo by Cambridge Audio and its an absolute dream. Love it.

Product is fantastic but..
Ordered from AVSquad Seller and service was great. However I was sent used product, I didn’t return as it was working 100% but not acceptable with a new product.Amplifier performance is amazing, there is no second thought about it. Stars are deducted only because the product original packaging wa tampered already and used for sometime.

INTACHABLE
