Great quality
100% Wool. Not itchy but warm. I ordered large and it fits across my king size bed. Easy care, wash with woollite or dreft detergent and air dry. I purchased 2 for go bags. But used in this past winter when electric was out. Really warm, no shedding.

Looking for a wool blanket? Get this one.
I literally just got this, so I'll update later as it gets use, but my immediate reaction is that this is totally worth the price. Preface: I'm a wool snob, I have been knitting for 20 years, almost always with merino, and I also spin my own merino into yarn.Out of the package, this wool camp blanket is hefty and, much to my surprise, oddly soft! I was fully expecting a very scratchy wool, which I was ok with because I plan on using this as an added insulation on top of my sleeping bag/comforter, but it's actually pretty danged soft. Not 17 micron merino soft, but absolutely soft compared to most regular wool. It has small amounts of veg matter in it, which is cool with me too, since it just means the wool wasn't mega processed. You can feel that it has a small amount of lanolin in it still as well. It is shedding a bit, again, I expected this, so I may toss it in the dryer on air dry to help remove some of the excess, but I have a dog, so it'll end up furry either way.Smell: It smells a little sheepy, no other scent, no yucky chemical smell like I've read most camp blankets have. This is the main reason I opted for this one over cheaper ones.Overall, I believe this will be a well loved, heavily used blanket for me. I am constantly cold and my kids are constantly hot, so I already own both a giant, thick down comforter and a smaller down throw for the living room. Throwing this on top of my throw increases the warmth factor dramatically. I cannot wait to use this while camping in the mountains!

Very nice blanket
I specifically ordered this blanket for indoor use, not camping or bushcraft. At 5lbs it’s heavy and bulky for hiking into the woods with IMHO. The wool blanket arrives with a plastic zipper storage bag! A nice touch and makes storing it easy. How it feels: Texture is smooth but not “fluffy” soft like a Sherpa material would be. It’s very comfortable to sleep with even directly on the skin. Not scratchy of overly fuzzy. How it sleeps: Despite the weight it’s a relatively thin blanket. You don’t feel like your being crushed or smothered under it. It’s amazing to stay warm all night but not feel sticky from all of the sweating you do at night. The wool just wicks the moister away leaving you dry and comfy. I tend to sleep hot and to my surprise this keeps me more comfortable than anything else I’ve used blanket wise. I stay warm wile the blanket breaths. Many people are finding small stretchy plastic/rubber fibers in the blanket. I ask the manufacturer about it and was told this blanket is a mix of virgin and recycled wool. So apparently some elastic from old clothes got stuck in the wool. It’s still 100% wool though. All in all, this is a great blanket to have.

Strong Dye Smell, Nice Quality
This is a recycled fibers wool blanket. It smells like it was dyed with strong chemicals and despite being "triple washed", it has the distinct odor of an industrial dye vat. I've aired it out in the full sun for a couple days, but the smell persists. I'm reluctant to try washing it because it's so heavy, so I'm hoping the smell will fade over time. Be aware it will smell due to the manufacturing process! In my opinion, some reviewers just aren't as sensitive as others to smells. I think it's still very much worth the price, being 100% wool, and I'd like to buy another if I can find a way to air this one out.

Great value in a wool blanket!
I appreciate wool's insulating properties. I have bought an EcoWise blanket by Pendleton, a couple Army surplus blankets. I don’t like fleece style blankets because they make me too hot. Wool magically will keep me warm on the coldest nights but I don’t have to worry about overheating and then sweating. So these being 100% wool was important.I washed the blanket upon removing it from the package. There was a smell that seemed like some kind of chemical. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t pleasant. I washed the blanket by itself on a delicate cycle with cold water. The dryer has an ultra low setting that is like a warm room on a summer day so I used that to get it most of the way dry. I took it out early and laid it out overnight to dry.The smell was much reduced. After a couple nights, it was gone. Now I have what appears to be a well-made, 100% wool, washable blanket. It’s decently heavyweight, to me, but not overly so. It has been great keeping me warm at night. It’s reasonably soft. I’m not sure if I’d want to sleep under it alone by choice. But I certainly could if needed. I love that I can wash it. It’s much nicer than an Army blanket and probably only a little inferior to my Pendleton blanket. I’m going to buy another in an additional color. I like the gray.

High quality, heavy wool blanket!
Impression:Thick and heavy, this is an excellent cold-weather/emergency blanket for your vehicle. I live in Michigan and winters can be brutal. -that was the original intent- I liked the weight and feel of the blanket so much, I used it on my bed until the heat of late summer came back. Color (grey) is true to photos. Edging is a white four-thread serge (I believe) and appears to be good for keeping the edge neat. I didn't find it very scratchy as some others have noted. I may bring it back to the bed when the cooler weather sets in. If I continue liking it as much as I think, I'll have to buy another for the car!Measurements:Tightly folded- I have a 3" thick, 11 1/2" wide and 18" long bundle that weighs in at 5.08 lbs. The material thickness is nearly 1/8" thick and overall measurements are: 91 1/2" x 68 1/2".Odor:I noticed a faint lanolin smell that other reviewers noted. After a week, I don't notice the smell unless I press my nose into the fabric.Overall:Very happy with this purchase and will not hesitate to order another!

Exactly what I expected. Great Product!
I ordered 2 of them. Neatly packaged and "heavy" enough. It does smell a little, since an authentic wool blanket will emit some lanolin oil smell for a while. Not itchy either, since the wool strands are long enough. And very warm.About the smell... it means the wool was not saturated with chemicals during manufacturing - a very good thing! However, you just have to hang it up outside for a few days and the smell will go away. A small price to pay for a lifetime product. Very pleased.

Nice quality
Heavy, large and well made!I put it in a basin with hair conditioner for 30 minutes and then washed it with wool detergent at the wool program. Fantastic and even softer. Smells great and very smooth to the skin.
