Outdoor Ventures Women's Softshell Jacket with Removable Hood Fleece Lined Windbreaker Insulated Long Warm Rain Jacket

I am so glad I chose this jacket. I've been wearing it a couple months now in all kinds of weather and it has kept me warm when it's cold and windy but not overly warm when temps are up, and it's kept me dry in the rain. I originally ordered a medium, which was a snug fit, and I returned it. I like to wear several thinner layers of clothing when it is cold out and knew I needed a large, which is perfect for me. I am 5 feet tall, 130 pounds. I have worn a form fitting silk mock neck, topped by a Climate Right fleece shirt, under a cotton cardigan, and can easily don and remove the jacket. Even with all that clothing, the jacket has a slenderizing silhouette and is easy to zip. Love the two-way zip, the soft lining, the amazingly deep pockets inside and the easy zip pockets on the outside. I find hoods annoying but the hood does fit well and removes easily, so I fold it and put it in the deep inside pocket when rain is forecast. I love the deep grey heather color which goes with all my clothes, shoes and boots. This is a very well made high-quality jacket with excellent stitching and easy to use zippers, even if it were double or triple the price. I toss it around a lot when out shopping or on the bus and it never looks wrinkled. I know this is a bit long for a review, but this is the best jacket I have ever had and wish I could buy one for everyone I know!!!

The media could not be loaded.  I had a jacket very similar to this one and accidentally left it on a train last year. I’ve been looking for a replacement ever since. When I saw this on October 11-12 Amazon days, I had to order it! I received it today, 10/13, and couldn’t wait to see it. The jacket was tightly folded and packed in a zip lock type bag. The packaging offered a great view of the jacket. The next thing I noticed was how soft the outer shell is and I had to do a video review of my new favorite jacket. Inside is very soft fleece lining, even in the hood. It looks like it will keep me warm in the Fall and early spring. The outer shell feels like it will repel the rain and I will do a follow up review when I wear it in the rain. The XL fit is perfect for me. FYI, I am 208 lbs and 5’6” tall. I love how it fits a bit longer in the back. The plum color, I think they called it purple red heather, is beautiful. It appears to be well made especially around the seams and the detachable hood. The hood is securely attached by a zipper and Velcro. The front tabs of the hood are velcroed and fit snugly as you can see by one of the images I uploaded. The pockets are deep and that’s a nice surprise for me. So far I don’t see anything I don’t like.

I have not worn the jacket yet. My only complaint so far is that the jacket cannot be dried in the dryer. I wash all clothing before I wear it. I washed this in the machine on cold and gentle, then hung it on a hanger to dry. There are many wrinkles from where it was folded in the package. I am using an iron on wool/silk setting with a heavier weight cotton towel on top to steam out the wrinkles. It is time-consuming. I hope I do not have to do this every time I wash it.Aside from the cleaning aspect, it is a very nice jacket. It is well-made with good stitching and great features. The zipper zips in both directions which is nice when sitting to unzip the bottom half. There are enormous pockets on the lower inside of the jacket. The sleeves are long for taller people; I am shorter so will shorten the sleeves for me. The sleeves are full enough to accommodate my large upper arms with a sweater on. When looking at the garment measurements, take into consideration that those measure the outside. With a liner, the jacket is smaller on the inside. I had to return and reorder a size larger due to this. Other than the fabric care, it is a very nice jacket.

I have two of these jackets now. They repel water well. I've never tried to hike in a rainstorm in them, but they are great for walking in light rain or walking from car to store in pouring rain with the hood up. No umbrella needed! The fabric is slightly stiff, but still soft and drapes nicely. It is not crinkly-noisy like other rain coats. I get frequent compliments on this coat. The cut is slimming with an adjustable waist band. Outer pockets zip. Spacious inner pockets. Zipper does not stick. Can unzip from the bottom (when sitting or driving for room) or top. It works in temperatures from lower 60's F to 30's F (with a sweater). I'm 5'6" @135lb and the small is perfect. This jacket is sold under different brand names, but I noticed the sizing is not the same. I have grey and plum.

I received my jacket today, and I am very impressed. The quality is excellent. The outer material is nice and the inner fleece is soft. The jacket is a good weight and will be perfect for spring or fall. The hood is nice and deep. I debated between a size medium and large, and went with the larger size. It is a nice fit and the draw string inside allows you to adjust the fit. The medium would have fit, but I like that the large leaves a little room for a sweater or layers. The length is nice too as it covers your bum. I haven’t worn it yet, so I can’t speak to that aspect of the jacket, but I’m very pleased with my purchase so far.

I bought this go replace a Lululemon raincoat that was too small for me. I love that this one has a zipper at the bottom (just like my old coat) BUT it fits way better.. it flares at the bottom and is extremely flattering. I look skinny in it - huge BONUS-but also the hood is BIG and the material doesn't pick up cat hair! Also it's really soft. Have not used outside yet but I'm tempted to lounge around in it.. it's that comfortable. I don't often feel compelled to write reviews but in case others want a flattering and soft raincoat- look no further! I am donating my old coat, at long last I found my replacement ❤️Update - wore it in a rainstorm, can confirm it is waterproof!! WOOHOO 🎉
