THOMPSONS WATERSEAL TH.042851-16 Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain, Woodland Cedar

This is great product but I was disappointed to receive the wrong color and cannot return it because I had already opened it.

I've used this on my deck three times in 15 years. It always dries to a very handsome finish, the color (woodland cedar) was surprising the first time I used it, but it looks great next to my natural finish cedar pergola. It doesn't last the 4 years they claim, but still very good stuff.

I feel certain it will add years of water protection to my shakers.

Says one coat but needed two.

Very easy to apply and effective. Directions specify to use one coat, of course that means you need to use 2. The areas where I applied one coat is starting to look worn down. So far it’s held up great through the 1199 storms we’ve had this spring. I don’t mind reapplying next year considering I was ready to replace my deck bc the wood looked so horrible. Win win. I purchased cedar which actually came out very beautiful.

Who would have thought you could buy something like this online?! After scouring every hardware store in my area for the color I needed to finish staining my extensive fencing I found that it had been discontinued. Luckily I was able to get two gallons here and they came quickly by UPS! I have no idea how to score the warmth of fence stain...LOL Amazon needs to review their criteria...but this is the same quality and color stain as found in the stores.

I purchased Thompson's Water Seal Semi-Transparent Woodland Cedar to apply to our new cedar fence. When we started to apply it, we noticed that there were pigment blobs throughout the product. This was after I'd shaken it well. These blobs would never dissolve into the mixture. The longer we used it, the worse it got. I had followed all of the instructions, but it didn't help. Now we have a blotchy fence that looks bad. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Don't buy this product. There really is something wrong with the storage method (did it freeze?) or the manufacturing.

We power washed and stained our deck. Turned out Great! Love the color! Water just beads up. Highly recommend

I bought this stain from Amazon after having trouble finding it in local stores. It had to be ordered and took a little longer than usual to come but worked great in staining our 10-year-old deck and teak and redwood unstained patio furniture. I used a small sander that I also bought through Amazon to sand and make ready the furniture and used a wood cleaner for the patio before applying the stain.Update: After less than a year over a rainy winter, I notice that the stain hasn't stood up and much of the stain has weathered off badly and faded, especially on the deck. . It looks like I'll need to apply another coat, at least, but at over $130 for a can, the price is exorbitant. Don't know what to do. Disappointed.
