Nifty antenna
This antenna is built like two tape measures stuck together. It's stiff enough so it's unlikely to collapse accidentally. It's easy to bend though and the strap holds it in place securely. It's a really convenient way to transport it.The antenna performs well. It's much more durable than those thin wire ones.

Clone Abree
Flimsiest materials and shorter in overall size than the brand name product. It worked though I don't have any of the technical evaluation equipment to objectively quantify/qualify.

Works well on Retevis RB17P
Great upgrade over stock antenna on Retives RB17P GMRS handheld radio. Went from only being able to hear gmrs repeater confirmation beeps and occasional unitelligable voices, to confirming radio checks on GMRS repeater that is 20ft off the ground, 10 miles away in a major city LOUD AND CLEAR with MANY buildings between. Best cheap GMRS handheld antenna upgrade and am 100% satisfied.

Works, but base broke loose
The antenna works great. I got a lot of gain over the stock rubber duck antenna. I really like the ability to fold for compact storage. The only gripe I have is that the SMA base of the antenna broke of after installing it tight several times. I recommend going with a BNC connector if you plan on removing it frequently, like I do.

Works perfectly for UV-5X
Remove the little set screw from factory antenna setup - install and start enjoying! Noticed improved tx and rx - not earth-shattering, but certainly a worthwhile upgrade to get the improvement. Plus, it looks kinda cool too LOL. NOVA GMRS

Not resonant at stated frequencies
The SWR is too high for the stated frequencies (144, 430). The dips are at about 180 MHz and 480 MHz, and too high on the rest of the bands. It does receive better than a rubber duck, for what it's worth.

Using 1W and I made more contacts vs. stock at 5W
Immediately improved the reception quality of my Retevis RT3S vs. stock antenna. Stock antenna would also capture a lot of noise on weak signals and sounded snorty. This antenna seems to have gotten rid of the snorty and improved general reception. It also has an improved look (picked up usually weak signals better) on a (RTL-SDR) software defined radio for 2m/70cm vs stock duckie and an N771 whip. I haven't got to test SWR, but using 1W and I made more contacts vs. stock at 5W. Plus you don't have to panic too much about bending it.

Has been returned, worse than the original "rubber duck" antenna
I was ready to accept this antenna is way longer than the original if it would have the proper gain and solve my transmission issues but it did not.Original antenna is reaching the DMR repeater with my TYT MD-380 at S5. I was hoping to get this higher but it got worse to the point I could not even be received by the repeater. Most ratings seem to be good, but I guess I felt into the few with low ratings and had a very similar experience/problem.

As advertised
I seems to be a solid unit. i am not sure how water resistant the base of the unit is but maybe a o-ring could be used to seal it. i am using it on a yaesu vx-6 and it works well
