These work great!
I didn't know such a thing existed until my daughter asked me to order these for her. She is a senior in high school and he uses a sewing machine all the time. I asked her what she'd been keeping her needles and she said in a sandwich bag. Says she's gotten poked by them. So this solves a problem. I didn't know it came with needles so that was a bonus. Each case holds a lot of needles. So my daughter said she put her smaller needles in light brown case and the longer ones in the dark case. Anyways my daughter is very happy with these so I am happy.

Things are Smaller than they Appear
The idea of being able to slip the thread into the eye of the needle instead of attempting to thread the needle the old fashioned way is genius! The 'cigar tube-like' needle holder is very cool. The "thimbles" resemble the cigar rings, but slightly stronger; not something I'd use as a thimble. If you're a crafter you can use it as part of an art project.Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing I'm able to sew with the enclosed needles, they're so thin and so small. It may be fine for some people... just not me.

Great sturdy needle holders.
I bought these primarily for the needle holders. I needed to store my needles I use for beads. These I use to embroider. These needles will only hold 2 strands of embroidery floss. You need to pull carefully or else they'll have lint caught in the eye. I only received one thimble. It wasn't a big deal. I probably won't use it but it is adjustable.

Needle breakage
I was really hoping these would work really well for when I need to hide tread in a quilt. I probably broke over half of the needles, they seem to get stuck and then the head breaks. Then I have to try to get the head out of the quilt. Not fun. I will not be purchasing these again.

Nicely made.
They are quite lovely, actually. The finger guards are pretty cheaply made and are not as easy to use as those that cover the entire fingertip, but I bought these for the wooden needle holders, not the finger guards/thimbles. The needle holders/tube storage boxes are well made and made of beautiful wood.

Needles get stuck, shred the thread
The needle holders are nice, but the self-threading needles are very difficult to work with. The open part of the head gets stuck on the fabric and/or shreds the thread, and can pull off of your thread as you are sewing. Not worth the tiny convenience of quickly threading when you have to re-thread several times as you sew, and your thread gets ruined, too. I threw them away.

Nice needle storage
2 pieces, perfect for storing different sizes of needles. The one thing I didn’t like was the gold “thimbles”. They are a round circle and there is no way it can be used as a thimble.
