Definitely worth adding to your fashion library!
Mesmerizing! This book succeeds on so many levels. It's a stunning picture book of dynamic fashion illustrations previously lost from public view ~ what a gift to see them collected together as testimony to the strength of Viramontes' talent! And, it is also an informed chronicle of 1980's fashion. The illustrations capture the distinctive energy of that specific era, and Rhys-Morgan's insightful writing illuminates the key players from the designers (the Valentino illustrations alone make this book worth owning!), to the celebrities (Isabella Rossellini) to the fashion insiders (Steven Meisel), who populated Viramontes' world. Though a fleeting talent in terms of years, he made a significant contribution to fashion history, and we can thank Rhys-Morgan for this thoughtful book that combines the eye of a connoisseur with the voice of a well connected friend. Definitely worth adding to your fashion library!

A Wonderful Trip To Fashion Land ca. 1980
As a fan of 1980s fashion reading Bold, Beautiful and Damned was a fabulous trip down memory lane. Viramontes was certainly a force to be reckoned with and his story is both encouraging and tragic. We lost so many amazing talents to AIDS and the fashion world is still feeling it today. I'm so glad that Dean Rhys Morgan brought Viramontes back to us via this gorgeous book.

More Please
I’m kind of late to the party on the whole Tony Viramontes thing but wow what a discovery. The drawings are beautiful but it’s the photographs that really grab me. I would love to see more. So ahead of his time and full of bunch. Lets see more!

Captivating! Mesmerizing!
This stunning collection of fashion illustrations by Tony Viramontes is symbolic of the 1980s but, as Jean Paul Gaultier notes, these amazing sketches are "classic examples of timeless modernity." And Dean Rhys Morgan celebrates this shooting star's work from the portraits of Paloma Picasso and Isabella Rossellini to the album covers for Janet Jackson and Arcadia. Capturing the mood of the 1980's fashion scene, Dean Rhys Morgan's masterpiece will be one of my prized possessions. Je vous remercie beaucoup!

Tão bom ter a oportunidade de lermos livros de pessoas que infelizmente faleceram muito cedo mas teriam um futuro maravilhoso pela frente. Livro bem ilustrado, gostei bastante.

Bold and Damned Beautiful
Dean Rhys Morgan’s superb tribute to the work of Viramontes is a feast for all senses. Only the greatest fashion artists have that sense of thrill and dash in their bold strokes and vivid line and Viramontes is like Berard, Bouché, and Vertes all rolled into one for a 1980s glamour triumph. Dean Rhys Morgan brings the times vividly to life and gives Viramontes the place he deserves at the table of the 20th century greats. Beautifully produced and illustrated - this is a must have for an fashionista or devotee of the Duran Duran era of colour, excess and romance.

Amazing With A Capital A!!
Wow, this book really is first class. I have been waiting weeks for my copy to arrive and the only criticism I have is that it is not bigger. I thought it would be as big and glossy as the recent Antonio book that came out last year. That aside it really is stunning to look at and fascinating to read. I thought I knew quite a lot about Fashion drawing but there was lots of new information in the book plus page after page of the most stunning drawings. There are lots of personal stories from people that Tony Viramontes worked with the the writer has tracked down which gives the work a much more personal feel.If you love fashion drawing and like Antonio Lopez you really should get this book.
