Crater Set - Unainted (5 Craters, 28mm Terrain) by Pegasus Hobbies

Let me start off by saying that these craters are the third piece of scenery that I've bought which was made by Pegasus Hobbies to help dress up my Warhammer 40k table top. The first piece of scenery was the Gothic City Ruins Set #1, which I absolutely loved. The plastic is very thick/durable and fits exactly the theme I'm going for. The second piece of scenery I bought was the prepainted stone walls, rounded. Again, these too I loved as they are very thick, durable plastic and will fit well on the table top immediately, straight out of the box. Both items will have a long life, I believe.So, with that in mind, I went ahead and purchased the craters. Visually, they look great, and I was pleasantly surprised by how big they are. These things are going to work really well on my 40k table top!However, I have to admit I was disappointed that the plastic for these craters is very very thin. Thin plastic like you'd expect to be used in cheap take-out containers that restaurants use. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have minded, had I bought these craters first and had nothing to compare them against. However, that's not the case here, and when compared to the gothic ruins and the stone walls, the quality here stands in stark contrast. Well, quality may not be the right word, since they look great. I just wish they would have used the same thick plastic that they did with the other scenery that I bought. I mean, this plastic is so thin, the craters are all slightly warped so that they don't sit flat on my table top. A bit of a bummer.Anyway, all is not lost, as it might just mean I need to mount these to some thick cardboard or something to hold craters flat, and maybe find a filler of some type to fill in and reinforce underneath. So, I have options.So, to summarize, I'm happy I bought these, but I have to do a little work to ensure I'll get decent life out of them. But the bummer is that the quality of the plastic is just so different than what they use for their other products.

I bought these to use for some decoration on my Kill Team and This Is Not A Test game mats. I have to admit they were bigger then I expected, which is nice. While they are made of thin plastic, it's really not bad at all. They're easy to paint with some basic dry brushing and washes. Plus as terrain they can be used in a variety of games from sci-fi (blast craters or moon craters) to modern wars.

These are not solid. They are thermoformed so very flexible. I had to put mine on plywood backing.

Even unpainted these craters were great right out of the bag. I purchased these unpainted because I became interested in my son's playing Warhammer 40k. We will customize them to maximum effect. We decided to purchase another set, and cann't wait for them to arrive. The seller had them shipped quickly, well packaged and arrived much sooner than anticipated. Will definetly order from this seller again. PS they are perfect size for all of the Warhammer 40k models and table space!

These work perfectly for what I wanted, the only reason I did not rate them as 5 stars is they are made out of very thin plastic and I fear they will break or even tear soon.
