These batteries have only lost 40mah of capacity after 3 YEARS of use!!
There's a reason these batteries are never on sale and are on the higher end of the price spectrum. It's because they're worth the money! I bought these over 3 years ago and they have only lost 40mah of capacity according to my Opus BT-C3400 charger that will discharge lithium batteries. I have charged, used, and recharged these batteries so many times that the paint is wearing off them. Around the same time, I also bought several different brands of 2800mah Ni-MH rechargeables (including EBLs) and they are almost ALL dead because I let them discharge and stay dead for about 3 months. I let one of these AmpTorrent's die for about 3 months and it lost NO capacity. In fact, it holds a little MORE capacity than the other 3 I have used constantly. These lithium's keep going and have much more capacity than even the very few 2,800mah Ni-MH rechargeables I have from 3 years ago that still work.I will say that I was a little disappointed when I bought these AmpTorrrent's because they only held about 2,625mwh (1,750mah) rather than their advertised 3,000mwh (2,000mah). But since then I have purchased about 12+ other brands of lithium's and NONE of them hold their advertised capacity! The shortfall of 375mwh is actually VERY GOOD compared to almost every other brand I've tried. Most brands that advertise 3,200-3,600mwh do not even hold 2,625mwh and NONE with USB ports hold more power, even 2 brands I have that advertise 3,400mwh and 3,600mwh.You get what you pay for when it comes to lithium rechargeables. These batteries are wonderful to use. "Ease of use" is something I never considered when I started buying rechargeables. Lithium's can be very "picky."Here are some problems I have had with other brands of lithium rechargeables:Some brands have lost significant capacity since they were new (but they're still better than Ni-MH). Some don't have indicator lights. Batteries that have indicator lights often remain on after they are fully charged, depleting the battery after it is charged. Some overheat and keep stopping and starting while they cool down, taking forever to charge. I also have a few lithium's that have just died for no reason. When it comes to lithium's with USB charging ports, many don't fully charge with the USB port. If you pop them in a wall charger they will continue to charge for up to 10 minutes after the indicator light shows they are fully charged using the USB port. Some lithium's have trouble being detected by a wall charger and won't charge at all until you discharge them a little and try again. If the problem is they are too discharged to be detected by a wall charger, then you're SOL. These last 2 problems can be solved with a charger that doesn't turn off, like a Tenavolts or Pujimax charger. These chargers rely on the chip in the battery to decide when they are fully charged rather than a chip in the charger making that decision. They also guarantee your batteries are actually fully charged. These batteries don't have any of these problems except the indicator light does stay on when they are fully charged when using the USB port. But if you use ANY wall charger, the light will go off. But since they fully charge using the USB port, it's not really a problem and you can always unplug them and plug them back in to top them off.
