Great little tablet
Tablet cheap and it has lots of apps. Bought this for my son and he loves it. It's perfect for kids and it's light. You can buy a light heavy duty case for it to protect it from kids. Tablet loud and the sound quality sounds like what you get from something high dollar.

Aging technology still holds up well
Kindle 7s at this point are a niche ask because of their lack of modern functionality and the device's operational speed, which is average. It also suffers a bloatware problem that takes up valuable space on the device and is impossible to opt out of. That said, I love this little thing for what it CAN give me, which is access to my library and all of the audiobooks and books I want without leaving my house. The fact that it's older works well for my use, as I don't want the bells and whistles that come with modern Kindles -- I just wanted a way to read books and listen to audiobooks from my library, and despite some delays due to the older technology, it does that for me extremely well.If you're looking for a simple device that works fairly well and that you intend to focus primarily offline and/or with Libby and your Kindle Library, this device is absolutely great. Refurbished like I got is even better, as you're giving a lonely little Kindle a home AND getting at-home access to your library.

Beautiful, works great, wish the battery was bigger
I bought this Kindle to replace a 2012 model because the battery life on the old device was getting short. The processor on the 2019 Kindle fire is quite a bit faster than the old version, but the battery life is about the same. The new 2019 model was purchased as a refurbished device. (I got the sage green color.) It is beautiful and I would never be able to tell it was refurbished. There are no scratches or other tell take signs that would indicate it had ever had any repairs done to it.All in all, I'm happy with this Kindle fire. I only wish the battery life was a little longer.

More frustrating than useful
I have had Fire HD tablets in the past and swore I would never again. I did. I hoped that Amazon had improved the handy little device for me being able to read my Kindle library somewhere other than on my computer. Additionally, I had hoped I could use this for watching my streaming services while on the treadmill.First, the responsiveness of the tablet is a joke. There are cheaper Android tablets out there that are more responsive and load more quickly. When the system does come up fully after about 10 minutes, you can begin to use it -- but not well. It frequently locks up, freezes or crashes on Amazon apps. Using Kindle is a horrible experience on this device and is so frustrating that you end up spending more time trying to get the device to work than actually reading. Don't even think about trying to use the Amazon Silk browser for any internet surfing - it doesn't work on 9 out of 10 websites or crashes.Streaming apps work as long as you have NOTHING else running and don't expect to touch anything during play. Best option is to not even breathe on the device while playing or you will spend the next 15 minutes trying to restart the streaming app and finding where you left off with the lagging controls.Other issues are with the touch screen being responsive, the horrible battery life, the garbage running in the background that you have ridiculous battery life.I will be sending this one back, lesson learned....again.

You get what you pay for, but that's not entirely bad.
It's noticeably refurbished, don't expect something that even remotely works like it's new in any way. The battery is all worn out and dies on its own extremely easy, it's extremely slow and sometimes doesn't register touch, and just overall difficult to use compared to more modern, new tablets. However, it works perfectly for what I need it for which is just a display. If I wanted an actual tablet that I use daily and I didn't have a huge budget I'd probably just save up a little bit more and buy a refurbished or older iPad.
