Lasted 1 1/2 Years
Absolutely loved this product. Has made going on vacations 100x easier.11/27/22:Unfortunately it has recently died (during a vacation 😬). Poor cats haven’t had food dispensed for a few days. We bought it June 2021 and it has decided late November 2022. Lasted a year and a half.Bought it when it was $40ish due to a discount. Going ahead and buying it again due to the Cyber Monday discount. Snagging this amazing technology for $25!

Finally I can stop worrying
No more late feedings. It’s like having someone at home to feed the cat for me. I have a chonk who is on a Rx diet, so this feeder helps both with portion sizes & feeding times. The cat isn’t happy, but he’s losing weight, which means a healthier, prolonged life for him. He can hate me all he wants. 😏

Does not come with a plug in.
I haven't really committed to it just yet. But I do think it will work for our cat, when we are out of town. She tends to clean her bowl every time it has food in it. This user manual isn't much. It did take a bit to figure out how to program it. But once I did it was easy. I believe the one portion option will be enough for each feeding. Warning: it comes with a USB cord and NO ADAPTER!!!!! So be prepared to with either D size batteries and/or an adapter. But all in all I believe that it will serve its purpose for our Shadow.

Ok
I have used this product since June 2020. It was replaced once by the manufacturer early one when it stopped working. Does a decent job if you never change the schedule. Once you change it, it never works right. I have tried to reset but it always feeds on the original schedule and now we have the time changing or not changing so the feedings are at the wrong time. It worked ok but I think I need a better one now!

Bunnies favorite
Great feeder for my rabbits while we were on vacation. It is a little harder to reprogram than it was to begin with. Overall great product

Mechanically good, software needs work.
The feeder portions out food well. However the software needs work. Here are the problems I found.1) Initial software setup was good, I set up the feeder to do 6 feedings of 1 portion each.2) Found that 6 times per day is too much, so I adjusted the times per day to 5. This is when things went haywire. Originally I setup the times to be 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm. When I changed from 6 to 5 times a day, I didn't change any times or portions, just set from 6 to 5 times. I would assume that the 10pm would just go away? nope, it did it anyways. So then I tried to set 10pm to 0 portions, but since I had set it to 5 times a day, the setup doesn't show the 10pm settings at all. This means I had to go back to 6 times/day, just so I can make the 10pm time do 0 portions. Ok. That worked.3) Readjusting feeding times, I found that 5 times a day is still too much, so I go down to 3 times a day. New settings 6am A1, 2pm A2, 10pm A3. When I go to the setup menu I find that the times are randomly re-ordered in the menu. A1 is 0am, A2 is 6am, A3 is 10am. Can't find the rest.Net is the software is horrible. Probably the best way to figure out what your settings are is to just leave it at the max 8 times per day, and have timers setup for each time, however leave the portions at 0 for the times you don't want to feed. If you don't do this, the software may re-order your feeding time out of the list when you try to set it again later.

Useful and VERY Durable
We got this last minute before a long weekend out of town when we couldn't arrange for someone to look in on our outdoor cats. It does not indicate that it is for outdoor use. However, we programmed it, put batteries in it, and constructed a cage of scrap wood to keep raccoons out. The first cage was defeated by the little bandits. We found the feeder at the back door, having been dislodged, pulled apart, robbed of kibble, scratched and dirtied. We cleaned it, refilled it, put it back together and added more wood to the structure, using longer screws. The bandits returned while we were away and removed the bowl. They also obviously continued to yank and scratch and force their little raccoon hands into the dispenser chute to get at the food. In addition it rained all weekend while we were away, When we returned home, we waited to see if the food would be dispensed on schedule or if the machine had been destroyed by heat, rain and/or the raccoon gang. Despite all of the misuse by us, the near constant rain, the lack of connection to an electrical outlet, and abuse by the raccoons, the isYoung automatic feeder dispensed two portions of completely dry food at the scheduled time.

Abruptly died after a year of being plugged in
It worked great for a year, especially when I worked odd hours and was gone during his breakfast time. Sonny recently started begging for food more when I found out the automatic feeder had stopped working. I plugged it in, switched out batteries — the small digital screen is just blank. Another issue with the feeder is that it attracts bugs and has no way to seal it off from them. The only way to prevent bugs is to keep the feeder only half full as to not keep the dry food staying in the receptacle for prolonged periods of time. It’s useless now and didn’t even last a year. I wouldn’t be as bummed out if it was 15 dollars cheaper, but I expected more for the price.
