Asian cleaning kits come with a rod threaded 8-38. Which is WRONG THREADS if you want to use normal (threaded 8-36) brushes and jags. The Asian rods also have a NARROW HOLE. Which means you have to KING KONG this adapter in order to force it into that narrow hole. This adapter is the answer to how to use normal brushes with the Asian rod but use pliers to install it, or you will fail. Even KING KONG doesn’t have fingers strong enough to force this thing into that narrow hole without using some sort of tool for leverage.

Perfect fit, attaching Sport ridge brand cleaning equipment to my military type cleaning rod. No resistance on either end of the adapter. Smooth as silk!

Works perfectly with all my Hoppe’s cleaning attachments on a larger rod that I thought I had no use for.

The Pro-Shot No.8/36 Thread to Standard No.8/32 Thread Military Adaptor is so well made that it doesn't work out of the box. What I mean by this is that the military cleaning rod I have has threads that are not up to spec; and, this adapter's diameter needs to be shaved down to be able to screw into the rods. I don't fault Pro-Shot at all for this as the machining they did on this adapter is high-quality but I had to deduct a star because it doesn't just work out of the box as one would expect.

I went to Pro-Shot's website and it looked like they had taken this product down, so I came here. Pro-Shot's stuff is the best I've ever used, and my shooting resume is deep and experience with cleaning gear is extensive. Although this review is only for one product, do yourself a favor and buy more of their stuff. My only complaint is the steel on the military rods will cut the threads like butter if you cross thread them and apply any force. I'm careful with my gear so it's not much of an issue for me but others looking for a mindless, bulletproof solution won't find it here. This little product kept my portable cleaning kit small and I didn't have to buy new rods or hunt up military threaded accessories. If it was steel, I would have given it 5 stars.
