Wish I had this years ago
Installed on 2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab SLT Bighorn 4x4. I made do with a license plate mount one for years that was complete junk. It didn't give a good view, and would not work at low temperatures. This one is almost as good as the factory one on our newer vehicles. It provides a great view under all conditions, and I can clearly see the bumper / hitch, allowing me to get close to anything behind. It does not show the edges of the bumper, so you still have to watch the mirrors on the side. It works great, looks factory, and seems to be very high quality, including the cables. I have it installed always on, with a reverse trigger so that I can see it whenever I want, like when pulling forward into a tight space so you can see how far back the bumper is.

Cheap.
I used this for about a year. The camera quality was fine for me. Not crystal clear but could still see where things were behind me.The trouble is the plastic used isn't strong enough. After a year, the piece needed to open the truck tailgate broke off. It's cheap enough that I'll probably buy again and try to reinforce the important parts with a metal piece.

Works as advertised
Functionally this was a direct match for the orignal handle - although the plastic doesn't seem to be quite as robust as the original I think it will hold up well enough, time will tell. The camera works as advertised - it replaced one I had mounted to the license plate frame - the downward angle of this one did make hitching a trailer a bit easier, it made judging distance a bit more accurate.

Excellent Backup Camera!!!
I recently bought this LeadSign backup camera for my 2011 RAM 1500 because it had the bottom of the line head unit and no backup camera. Also due to the reviews I saw here and because the resolution was better than the rest of the RAM tailgate handle backup cameras. Once it was installed and working, I was impressed with the picture. Much better than the stock backup camera I have in my 2012 Grand Cherokee. My only Dink on this camera is even though the directions seem to be very clear on how to install it/wire it, the description on the wire to enable/disable the gridlines was obscure. Reading the reviews here cleared it up... Don't cut the wire by the camera if you want the camera gridlines. If you want no gridlines, cut the wire. My new head unit I bought so I could have a backup camera does have adjustable gridlines but I stuck with the camera's gridlines for now.- First off, I did not install it or wire it. I had Best Buy install it since I bought a new high end Pioneer AVH-2550NEX head unit from them with free installation that can have a backup camera. The geeksters couldn't get the camera to work on the first install attempt and stated that the camera was bad. I drove back home PISSED OFF after my stereo was in with no backup camera.- I promptly set up a return for the first camera with an Amazon Rep, which I will say was flawless and pretty awesome, and ordered another one of these cameras. Then I called the guys who installed it the first time to try to get an appt. for the second one to get installed. They were able to squeeze me in on short notice but when I went there, the Dork's could not get the camera to work again. Then one of the real Geeks found out that the voltage coming from the accessory was too much for the camera and then they actually read the instructions and hooked the wires up correctly to the "Reverse Light Wires"! Guess they had to learn the hard way and include me in they're failure that, "Reading is Fundamental". I'm just happy they finally got it to work right in the end.

Cant beat quality for this price!
Wow! did not expect much for this price but was pleasantly surprised when I received the product. Great quality built and the combined connector with a quick disconnect at the tailgate made it so much nicer. Installed this on my 2017 RAM1500. For power, I tapped into a 12v lighter on the driver's side with a bypass harness. Used existing RA2 for the screen but had to get a harness from infotainment as well as ODBC programmer. Great picture quality and easy install. Saved me $500+ by doing it myself instead of going to the dealer.

You will need to locate your REVERSE WIRE under the dash board for the 12v power.
Good product for the price, fit like the Original handle. DAY time view is GREAT the NIGHT time view is Grainy that is the reason for the 3 rating. hopefully there is a fix for that. I have plenty of backup lighting when backing up, I even tried blocking some of the light that did not make a difference with the night view. Back up wire needs to be located under your dash board left of the steering column. this went on a 2012 Ram 2500. Reason I installed this camera 1- looks original 2- I needed it when hitching my trailer and it does show your hitch. 3- it will keep me from running into anything, that is in one of the worse BLIND SPOTS. Just as the instructions say if you want the GUIDE line's you need to cut the small white wire by the camera. I did cut mine. The guide lines helped me, once you get use to the distance of the marker lines. NOTE This is 1 day of use, If things change for the better or worse, I will do another review. "Try it before you install it with a 12v source and a monitor"

Works great and has good video quality
I'd highly recommend getting this, if fits perfect just like factory. Had a touch screen installed in my truck over a year ago and had to get this as well. Even the quality of the camera is great and have had no issues at all, I do wish there was protective film for it though

Not as advertised.
Handle feels fairly cheap. Was advertised with "Professional Aviation Connectors", but what showed up was a weird push connector. Not too happy :(

Not enough wire
What don't supply enough wire to get from to the radio? I'm 2 ft short? WTFThe wire in the image appears to be robust but the actually wires are poor quality...don't buy this unit
