A good read.
This book is an older compilation of the same topic on which a slew of new practitioners have published their findings. Despite this, the book firmly holds its place in directing the reader to consciously breathe, and it tells them how to achieve such.

Great Foundation to improving your meditation and health through the breath
I originally purchase this book back in the early 1990's but somehow it ended up in the donation pile and disappeared from my library. I recently purchased the Kindle version and although it's hard to read the chapter titles and see some of the graphics it's a great book for describing the value of breathing in your life. I've learned lots of techniques for pranayama (breathing) in yoga over the past 40 years and love to practice it regularly, but I found this book to be fundamental and useful for teaching those who would never approach yoga due to fear that it promotes eastern philosophy or that somehow it conflicts with your religious beliefs. Voila!, Conscious Breathing is a valuable asset for reaching this group. Appreciate Gay Hendricks' sharing of his clinical experience in using the techniques which can be easily practiced by anyone. This is a great tool for your kit bag especially if you want to improve your silent meditation practices. I use many of the practices here to introduce people to meditation. They get relaxed and then I teach them to meditate...a perfect union. I highly recommend this book.

Practical!
This is a really practical and concise book that anyone interested in wellness should read. There isn't a lot of information in it, but there is power in every page. There is a bit about breath, but it's mainly exercises to make your breathing more efficient and healthy. Some of the instructions would not be easy to understand without the illustrations; however, the clear drawings add a lot. Of course, with any instruction manual the proof is in the results. I found that the exercises created good results fairly immediately so I am loving this. It's truly one of the best all around breath books I've seen.

I love this book.
I love this book. I first got it t the library and after reading a little bit of it I realized I had to have my own copy. I am studying nursing and am really interested in the disease-process and this book really enlightened me to the ideas that some serious health problems can be from improper breathing. The foundation exercises I found really easy to follow-all the other breathing books I have tried have not hooked me like this one.

Wonderful book, great service from the vendor
Wonderful book, great service from the vendor. I did not however like that it was printed in landscape form. Very hard to read and hold onto. Nevertheless the breathing information is nicely illustrated and easily explained.

Conscious Breathing
If everyone in the world owned and practiced what is in this book, we would only need doctors to help us mend ourselves when we had an accident. It is truely a must read for anyone concern about better health--and doesn't that describe all of us?
