31cm Chess and Nine Men's Morris Board (39mm Squares)

Ho acquistato questa scacchiera/damiera senza lettere e numeri più le pedine per poter rivedere le partite di dama italiana dei maestri o risolvere i problemi. La damiera è elegante, solida e ben fatta. Le pedine, sebbene differenti da quelle che acquistai oltre 20 anni fa, sono belle, lisce (a volte scivolano sulla damiera come missili!) e inoltre hanno un orlo sul secondo lato che consente di sovrapporvi un'altra pedina in caso di damatura. Sono assai soddisfatto.

I have several chess boards but they are all a bit too big. This one is the pefect size for sitting on a coffee table because the designer has kept the size of the border to 1.5cm so that it has room for 4cm playing squares on a board measuring only 35cm x 35cm. Ideal for chess pieces with kings up to 10cm without being too crowded for playing.The board is made in Italy and is beatifully finished. The wood has a lovely natural look that goes well with modern furniture. It is excellent value for an inlaid chess board of this quality.The reverse side has been inlaid for playing 9 man morris, which looks superb for the design pattern alone.
