My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun (Penguin Little Black Classics)

Unfaithful
These are the edited versions with changes to the punctuation and capitalisation, thus changing or obscuring the meaning of her poems. For example, the line, "My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun" is changed to "My life had stood a loaded gun". I recommend buying instead the Everyman Poetry collection for a better introduction to her poems. I am unsure why the revised versions are still getting published and why Penguin would choose them. Who is anyone to change how poets write their poems?

good quality pages, small book so easy to carry around and very lightweight, lots of room on each page for annotations which i love :)

Great value for money
You’re buying this because you love poetry or because you’re an Emily Dickinson fan or you know someone who is. It’s a lovely little book and doesn’t cost much. A great present for your poetic pal.

Five Stars
Excellent addition to my required reading for a study of Dickinson's poetry in the Spring Term at Manchester Uni

Because I could not stop for Death,He kindly stopped for me;The carriage held but just ourselves –And Immortality." -- Emily Dickinson
