HISTORICAL FICTION AT ITS BEST!
Never imagined that history could actually be blended with a gripping plot to produce such a masterpiece. With an extremely well-thought background story making every character what they are, this book presents the life of Asoka in an exceptionally intriguing manner, and that too without moulding any fact! The way the story explores the life of Asoka and Chandragupta simultaneously was quite a pleasure- something rare to come across. Also admire how the plot was set at a quick pace and there was no rambling over rather minor events. Eager to go through the rest of the series. Sincerely thank the author for delivering such an unputdownable novel.

Intelligent plots
I am always searching for good book On Ashoka and most I found interesting are more of historical nature but this book having fictional storytelling tone and had got me intrigued ...in initial.few chapters I thought it would be like many other books now a days being written on historical figures with too much spoon feeding and silly plots ....but as you progress you will realise that it is written in intelligent manner and when you finish it there will be huge expectation from author for upcoming books in the series...I would recommend it to anyone who want to satiate desire of reading good book on Ashoka

An epic novel - that could have been
The subject is rich but the handling falls short of the promise. This could well have been an epic in the vein of a Colleen McCullough novel. I am not thrilled with the constant flip flop between the Chandragupta and Asoka stories. Nor am I a fan of trilogies that are so short that it could well have been one book. Shreyas is a young writer and this looks like a great start to a writing career.

Masterpiece
Though this is a work of fiction, it does shed light to the character of two of the most significant figures of the Indian hostory. Kudos to the author... hopefully the second book will be just as much brilliant like the first

Intriguing plot
Chanakya is shown as a badass character, who 'doesn't knows no humanity', only a mission. The plot is divided into Chandragupta age and Ashoka age and how similar and dissimilar were there way of getting the throne.
