Nice Product, Well Made
I replaced my CV boots on my truck, using the bands that came with the new boots. After one month of driving long distance, the cheep retainer bands snapped or came loose. I found these clamps and figured I'd give them a try. They hold the boots on ten times tighter and feel solid. These new clamps work great!

gentle force while crimping seemsto be key
it took 3 of them to make a nice crimped band on my cv joint but I believe that might have been my fault. the first one broke, the second one I used less force but the rear part of the clamp pulled out (the bent tab section not the 2 stabs in the front) so I removed that one. the third one was the charm I used gentle force on the crimper (knipex 8.75") and it looks and feels good I will review it again later for longevity. this made me wonder if that is why some of the other ones failed in other reviews they might have been over crimped

These worked perfectly for my 13' Lexus GS350 AWD
These clamps are made of SS and are easy to install as long as you have the special tool. I need a clamp for the front axle boot on my 2013 Lexus GS350 and these worked perfectly.

They get the job done
The clamps work, but they are not the easiest to put on. If you can go with the correct size clamp I would recommend trying that first.

Easy to use
A little bit hard to adjust but works well

Low quality
Week and bendable, does not hold the cv boot properly and grease will leak out as a result. Possibly gets lose during as a result of the velocity. Installation is a pain, it bends easily on one side while the other side is not bent at all. Needs adjustment before installation since it’s wider that the tip of the tool. Overall very disappointing since the labor is too much and you end up with replacing it soon after with other clamps.

It works great, bad reviews come from inexperienced users.
These things work great and for the money vs. the way more expensive name brand tool, can't beat it. The poor reviews coming from people saying the winding spool falls out of it and that the band leads aren't long enough are coming from people who don't know what they are talking about. Yes, the band leads to tend to be a bit short and slip out of the spool at first, but put the band in the tool, bend the lead up so you can get as much into the tool as possible and then grab the end of the lead with a pair of dykes or needle nose plyers as you rotate the spool around a bit to get it to grab. When your done winding, the spool is SUPPOSED to be able to be pulled out so you don't have to unwind the entire lead you just wrapped around it. Pull out out the spool and then pull out the cut off lead. If was using one of these every day for my job I would get the real ones but for casual use, these puppies are great.

A video is needed
Bands look sturdy and have claws on the leading edge that fit into square holes on the circumference to make the clamp a tight fit. I fitted on a cv boot when the driveshaft was held in a vice which is much easier that fitting on a boot in situ on a car. My headline is "a video is needed" because my first clamp fell off! I used circlips to pull the clamp as tight as possible before I used the clamp pliers to tighten the clamp. Because I lost the clamp I assume the clamp pliers pulled the clamp too much and pulled back the "claws" that fit into the square holes - hence why the clamp fell off. I fitted a new clamp and hope I have not overtightened and this replacement remains in situ. For those that are interested! the clamp falling off meant I lost all the grease in the cv boot but I replaced the clamp before I had permanently damaged the new cv joint. You will also know if the boot isn't secure because there will be cv grease sprayed over the car wheel.
