Fjällräven Kånken 13" Graphite One Size

I was looking for a laptop bag that would fit my macbook air for traveling. The whole point of getting the air was because it was small and portable, but most laptop bags have huge 15 or 17 inch compartments. While there were a few options made for macbook, they were very expensive. I found the kanken and fell in love- small, well-made, and a retro design that reminds me of going to summer camp, and summer in general every time I look at it.I got the lake blue, which is more accurate-to-color in the regular-sized bag listing. It is a little brighter than royal blue, closer to cerulean. It's a beautiful, bright color. I rinsed the bag in the tub (as recommended on the tag) to prevent excess dye from transferring, but none of the dye seemed to come off. It's a neat fabric. I thought it would be like canvas, but it's very rugged. It is not waterproof but it has some water resistance to it, and dried really quickly. It should be fine if you get caught in a quick storm. I wouldn't say you --have-- to rinse yours, but it helped get some of the stiffness of the bag, and mine arrived from amazon with some dust on the corners/edges from shelf wear that I was happy to get off. Some people also complain about the front pocket being wrinkly, so I stuffed newspaper in the front pocket when it was still damp and now it looks great.As far as the size of the bag, it is a little smaller than I expected. When I was researching which bag model to get, reviewers made it seem like this bag had more room than the original size, but this is actually 3 cm narrower than the regular kanken, which reduces the interior space as well (13L vs 16L in the classic bag). The 15 inch is closer to the original kanken dimensions, and some of the bigger models have laptop compartments inside, so consider your size needs.For me, this is fine for what I need it for. The laptop fits snugly in the back and has a good amount of padding to keep your interior stuff from knocking into your laptop. Since my laptop is so thin, I put the seat pad (a very confusing thing) in the laptop compartment for extra padding. This gives the bag structure when I'm not carrying the laptop, and opens up the one interior pocket for my kindle/notebooks/etc. You can stuff quite a bit in. For traveling, it fits my laptop, charger block + charging cords, kindle paperwhite, sunglasses, over-ear headphones, moleskine notebook, field notes notebook, pens, water bottle, makeup bag, small purse, travel pillow, wallet, cell phone, and of course 13 inch macbook.Overall I'm happy with this bag. It's very minimalist, sturdy, holds everything I need to, and looks so cute. I will update if it doesn't hold up but so far so good!

I bought this backpack as a replacement for a Herschel Cotton Classics bookbag. The Kanken itself is free of defect (although strangely it did arrive without a tag) and typical Kanken - if you're looking at buying this you know what it's about. I like how much more structured it is than the Herschel; I like the sturdier fabric; the better zips; the padded, dedicated laptop slot that held my Huawei Matebook X Pro plus a laptop sleeve; the modern design.However, I am returning this backpack. The reason is that Graphite, which everyone else considers a sort of charcoal grey or anthracite grey, on the Kanken is actually closer to a slate blue. Even in darker lighting like the first pic, you can see the slight blue tinge. In sunlight or bright, white indoor lighting like in the second pic, you can see just how blue the backpack is. For reference, my shirt is a very dark grey, and my pants are black. Graphite is nowhere close to being grey.I'm probably going to buy the same bag in either Black or Super Grey, and will definitely try to handle the bags before I commit.

I loveee this bag! I'm a college student and I have been keeping my eye out for the kanken laptop backpack OR the classic, but just didn't know what size. For the sake of the review and helping people out especially for students, I've added pictures to depict what I've packed so far in my bag. I know the size doesn't compare to my 25L Herschel backpack that i also got on amazon a couple of months ago (BOTH bags are great by the way so you can always get a 15" or a 17" in the kanken or the Big & Maxi. Your preference).Since it's the summer, I plan to use this 13" for two of my sciences classes I'll be taking during the short term. As of right now, I just added what i've been bringing to work.So the laptop backpacks are great. I've done my research, whether it was the tumblr aesthetics or for a travel bag, you cannot go wrong with the padded straps! I know some people are worried about authenticity, so I've added a picture of the tags as well as the bare inside of the 13" in graphite. And I've done someee research with authenticity issues as well, so far everything looks good and the bag feels like it should: sturdy and solid waterproof.The only thing I would think about for these bags, is outward size and appearance. I honestly thought this looked really small when I unboxed it but when I put everything in, it just expands and everything fits great. The padded straps could probably be a little bit more supportive and the outside side compartments could be a little bigger for water bottles (Hence 4/5 stars)! For my preference, I've already thought about buying a 15 or 17" or the bigger size to the classic when I've saved up. Otherwise the kanken laptop is dependable and for other girls like myself, aesthetically pleasing.

I traveled to Europe and was always surprised by ridiculous carry-on luggage dimensions allowed by low-cost airlines. My old and trusted Jans backpack would cost me an extra $100 on the majority of cheap airlines. This Fjallraven Kanken was a perfect solution. It fits all airline regulations and allowed me to carry all essential stuff: 13" laptop, charger, full-size noise-canceling headphones, full-size notebook, hygiene items, a sweater, power bank, a wad of cables, and some other essential items. It fits nicely under the seat in front of you, so you can reach it easily during the flight. The backpack is sturdy and looks cool.

It’s hard to believe how much you can fit inside this stylish backpack. It seems to defy the laws of physics. Highly recommended. The blue color does attract dirt and dust easily.

La compré para poder llevar el portátil y todo lo necesario (documentos, cartera , objetos personales,...) en un vuelo de Ryanair. Tiene las medidas perfectas para llevarla en cabina.Aunque cara, es bonita, cómoda y de buena calidad.

Wir haben den Rucksack zum Transport eines 12.9 inch iPads bestellt. Das iPad passt perfekt und ist durch die Polsterung etwas mehr geschützt. Das iPad steckt zusätzlich noch in einer Schutzhülle und passt auch damit noch gut in den Rucksack.Wir haben dieses Modell genommen, da die "normalen" laptop-Rucksäcke so gar nicht gefallen haben. Das ist ein perfekter RUcksack, schlicht schön und trotzdem gute Funktion.Es werden oft günstiger Angebote angegeben, aber dabei handelt es sich oft um eine minderwertige Billigimmitation. Es lohnt sich hier ein paar Euro mehr auszugeben.Wir mögen den Rucksack!

Love this bag! Arrived promptly from seller, perfect condition, authentic product. The 13" laptop bag has a great extra compartment in the back for the laptop, which also fits a A4notebook. The side pockets must be smaller because of this alteration though, because I saw youtube videos in which people put (slim) water bottles into the side pockets of the original kanken, and that is definitely not possible with this 13" laptop one. Still, there's enough space inside for a bottle. Love the bag, glad I bought here as sold out online in this colour.
