The Adventures of Taxi Dog

It’s a love letter to New York City and to rescue dogs all wrapped into one! This a story I adored as a child, with beautiful and memorable illustrations. Now that I’m expecting my own child and gathering my favorite books, this was at the top of my list. I even teared up reading it again when it arrived. The taxi driver and Maxi the dog are sweet buds indeed.

Make sure you look for the hidden cat on every page!

This was one of our sons' favorite books so I bought it for our first grand-child If you love dogs, it is a must. There is a Christmas sequel but I think it might be out of print.

I LOVE this book. I've never known anyone who has ever read it but it just recently occurred to me to start giving this as a gift (probably a realization I should have figured long ago) and it's been received with strong positive reaction!So, it's a great book with clever rhyming and a whimsical story. Every year I read visit my mom's second grade classroom and read this.This past Christmas I gave it to a coworker with a 16 month old. SHE loves it. He tells me it's her favorite book she brings to him to read and the longest book they have that will keep her attention the whole time. He's mentioned it to me repeatedly and has quoted pages he's memorized so clearly he's been reading it a lot!I highly recommend it! One note of caution: there are several books about Maxi the Taxi Dog (this is the original) but pay attention to the author! The Christmas one is also great but I recently purchased a different one by a different person and the book is horrible (plus it doesn't even rhyme which is a huge part of this book...but not even tho only reason it's bad). So be careful :)

I love this book so much, as a child it was amazing and reading it to my own children has also been a gift in itself. I think this book should be one of the top children’s books! Colors, Rhyming, & simple message for all ages of young childhood.

This heartwarming story of a stray dog who finds a home with a taxi driver is just the best! My library kids loved it and so did I!

This is about the sweetest book. My 18 month old son asks me to read it every night. It's my husband's favorite book to read to him also. The pictures just lovely and captivated my son's attention instantly. I am from NY and it truly paints such an accurate picture of the city and the people in it. We enjoy the rhymes and it is a must have for your child's home library. Its heartwarming book dedicated to homeless animals. I read that some of the money gets donated to these animals as well.

This was my daughter's favorite book at her grandparents' house so when I saw it available I decided to add it to our library for our future grandchildren. We love Maxi the taxi dog.

We really enjoyed this book. We have read others by the same author and the children in my class asked me to get another one by the same person. We enjoyed the story, very cute and they loved that they could see a cat on every page, a little extra to look out for!!

Ich liebe dieses Buch!!!!! Als Kinderbuchautor öffnet sich mein Herz bei den wunderbaren Illustrationen und der Geschichte über Taxi Dog. Ein großes Kompliment der Autorin und vor allem dem Illustrator! Der Erfolg von Kinderbüchern steht und fällt mit den Zeichnungen. Einfach klasse!!!!!
