Excellent line.
The 12lb test I got is smooth as silk and stronger than any other flouro I ever used. The other day, a 400 pound seal lunged onto a 2lb mackerel I was catching for bait, and, vertically from a 20 foot pier, I was able to tussle and manipulate with my 6-12lb rated rod until the mackerel wriggled free from the jaws of the beast. Without retying, I fished the same leader the rest of the night, no issue. Best

Very Disappointed
If you pay more you should get more. The site did not give line diameter. The 50lb test I ordered turns out to be .71mm. Berkeley, which I consider to be not very good, is .74mm . Both are equally brittle and difficult to work with, but the Berkeley is 30% cheaper. I don’t like either one, but if you are going to buy one or the other, the choice is obvious. As an aside, I ordered Seaguar premium. The diameter is 62mm for 50lb test. No fluoro is going to be like braid, but the seaguar is much more supple than the above two. A much better choice.

Strongest & clearest flouro available
I flyfish and guide 5 days a week spring thru fall. Shinsei is a bit thicker/stiffer than other flouro tippets - but it also tests about 50% stronger and more durable than the others, even after being scratched up on rocks/teeth/etc. I've used it exclusively for the past 4 years but ran out on the last trip so had to use Orvis flouro - and it sucked comparatively. You can get away with going a bit thicker with this tippet because the fish somehow just don't see Shinsei (PhD fish in gin-clear stillwater tested). It really is more transparent to them. Also it doesn't get kinked/corkscrewed/stretched nearly as easy as other tippets. I like that the extra stiffness turns over flies better when casting and keeps it from bird's-nesting as easily. It's become my go-to tippet material and I feel compromised without it.

great leader line
I went fishing this past weekend and never had to even change out my leader line ONCE! I caught 6 keeper Mangrove Snapper, 12 Sheep Head, 10 Grunts, 12 Pompano, 2 speckled sea trout, and 1 22 lb Manta Ray that gave me a 20 minute show or aerobatics before I was finally able to retrieve my lure from his mouth for a clean release! This leader held up to the test with that Manta Ray, and it was also a great way to test out my new braid-to-flouro knot!!!

Great leader
Great leader! Easy to handle and tie knots. Seems to hold up well. Haven't had any breaks so far. I fish in a rocky jetty a lot.

One of the best leaders I have used!
Used this leader on my last offshore fishing trip. Lots of yellowfin tuna were around in Southern California waters. It easily handled 35 LB, as well as a 48 LB yellowfin . The boat crew recommended using at the least, 30 LB test line. With the Shinsei leader I hooked and landed my fish when others using heavier leaders did not even get nibbled.
