Color Mania: The Material of Color in Photography and Film

The book arrived crunched and with water damage even inside plastic still

Color Mania is a fantastic book and resource; highly recommended!

I am guessing this was originally written in German and was translated by someone whose native language was not english. It is quite difficult to read with very stilted phraseology. It may be designed as a textbook, in which the many annotations, notes and references may be helpful but as someone reading it, hoping to enjoy it, this feature is thoroughly irritating. I also much prefer that illustrations relevant to the text are on the facing page not many pages later, all grouped together. There is a good book there somewhere trying to get out but failing. It either needs re-translating or a first class native english speaking editor, who also has authority to re-arrange the book into a more logical and readable layout.

Excellent printing quality and colour film stock examples -and not overly academic in the writing.
