I recently purchased the Goodsmann Pathway Lights and I couldn't be happier with my decision. These lights have truly transformed my outdoor space and elevated the overall ambiance of my property. These replaced my old lights that were sold under the Better Homes and Gardens brand, and lasted about 10 years. They were exactly the same as these. They also had a weak spot where the top, globe section attached to the shaft with a plastic coupling and was easy to break if kicked or bumped hard. Lesson being learned, I placed the new fixtures away from the lawn side of my sidewalk and put them on the opposite side. This works very well and makes mowing a lot easier. Here are a few suggestions to help with installation: Screw the stake onto the lower end of the shaft, making sure that the wire is placed in the groove of the shaft, by holding the stake and turning the shaft (this will prevent twisting the wire inside the shaft). Next, position the top onto the shaft while gently pulling the wire out at the bottom and push it onto the shaft. Then push the stake into the ground by holding onto the shaft - do not push down on the top. If you have to tap the stake, strike it on the rim of the stake where it meets the shaft. The wire connectors work really well, just be very careful not to cross-thread them. After positioning the wire into the connector, I squeezed down on the threads very lightly to get the nut started. and then tightened it until the light came on - then gave it about a quarter turn extra to be sure of good contact. I don't know if polarity is an issue with these, but the feed wire has a ribbed side and a smooth side. I connected the ribbed side to the negative terminal and the smooth side to the positive terminal on the the transformer. Then made certain that the wire from the light also had the ribbed and smooth sides connected accordingly to the feed wire. One last bit of overkill: I wrapped the connectors with waterproof rubber tape because I wasn't comfortable just leaving them exposed to the moisture in the ground.

I thought lights are pretty well made. I wanted the metal stake as I have had issues with plastic ones. As others have said, the connectors are plastic. However, being aware of that allowed me to take extra caution while installing them. I also concur with others who have said these lights are a little bright. Overall I am very happy with these lights.

Great light works well

I seldom leave bad reviews on products, even if they sometimes deserve it. But Goodman and these particular light fixtures are so bad, I almost feel it is my responsibility to warn others. First, let me say these fixtures are just what I needed for my application. They are very bright and I really I love the styling. The connectors that come with the units to tap into the main low voltage supply cable work great and are easy to use. The problem is the units break so easily I would be embarrassed to sell them. And I mean they break VERY easily, always at the same place! The plastic part used to connect the stake to the lamp is so weak that I actually broke two of them just trying to assemble the units for use. They literally broke in my hands. I was shocked. I spent around $1000.00 on these with a failure rate of around 25% in the first three weeks. I know the rest will break over time. If you happen to brush one with your leg as you're passing by, do not be surprised if the globe just falls to the side and hangs by the wire, broken. They really do break that easily. My only option is to replace them with better quality fixtures as these break. At some point they will all be replaced, but in the meantime, I will have mismatched fixtures. Regarding any sort of customer service, I really hate to say it, but it is the worst. They promise satisfaction but absolutely refused to help me in any way. I even asked them to just send me some of the parts that are always breaking, and I would fix them myself. They wouldn’t even do that. Again, I love the style and brightness, but the quality and service is just awful.
