Think of this book as _Batwoman: Shadowpact_ and you might enjoy it more.
Okay, so I was mad about the editorial decisions along the way. I'm hoping some of DC's branching out creatively is an acknowledgement of mistakes made--most pointedly with Batwoman. Between books 4 and 5, this series went from a book of love and passion that hit peaks rarely seen in the medium to some talented work-for-hire staple. That mistake is totally on DiDio. That said, I liked this run more than 5; probably b/c there's a little more space from the book I loved. I liked the team approach, LOVED the inclusion of Ragman, and enjoyed the adventure with Morgan la Fey. I hate it that this is the end of the run b/c I think the new creative team is finally reaching their stride. This book makes me want to see a Batwoman: Shadowpact series (a la Batman and the Outsiders from ages past, but supernatural). Plus, Jeanty's always a treat (he did Buffy for years), and I think a good choice for this particular cast of characters.5 year's later: this is a _potential_ future based in the Future's End storyline. Ignore it if you wish. I like to think of it as the direction Kate was heading mid-story, but not by the end of the arch.Summary: New creators (still mad about that); Team book instead of solo; supernatural/superhero story. I think it has potential.

Batwoman and poor man's Outsiders
Not the best way to end for Batwoman, okay. The editorial history of Batwoman is not a bright one. Her original creative team dumped after Vol. 4 as they planned to marry off Batwoman & Maggie Sawyer but DiDio was against it saying something along the lines that heroes aren't allowed to be happy. Really DiDio? Read that on-going married couple the Richards over at Marvel? Guess not. The point is we got a whole new writer with Andreyko in Volume 5. Honestly, it wasn't all bad. It ended the debacle with the D.E.O. and Batman fairly well I might say. Then we dealt with the ending of her engagement and the rebound with black widow/femme fatale vampire. Intriguing.Vol. 6 picks up with that to only add more. Now we have Etrigan, Clayface, Ragman and Red Alice. Okay, now granted I love The Demon Etrigan. But is he needed? In fact, are any of these characters needed? The basis here is some strange team building exercise for the writer. The team itself isn't that interesting either. I don't think anyone was asking for any Batwoman team to be honest, I like her as solo character. This team element is even brought into the Future's End issue, as if this team became an actual "thing" and not a one-time deal. We pick up with Nocturna and its climax (which isn't too surprising). We also bring back Alice, Batwoman's sister. This felt a bit too soon, instead this should have stewed at bit. As it feels Alice has only been gone for like weeks. I think a whole publishing year should have passed before we re-introduce her. And if it is to be done, it shouldn't have been done while handling this team while battling Morgan LeFay and the issue with Nocturna. There was no time to really devote these sisters' re-union. The book does have a few cute moments and good humor, especially in some places with Batwoman dealing with Etrigan's rhymes and Clayface. The action is decent, and props to Andreyko for putting her in space and medieval times. Is that very Batwoman at all? I would argue no but good to see some risks being taken and it is generally fun. Sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone. The ending itself is decent but the Future Ends issue offers nothing in terms of story. Batwoman is a vampire now? Awesome. But how? Why? None of that is answered. Keep in mind Future's End is a 5 years from now "possible future". Fine, but what is it that makes this future possible? No idea. This art is hardly enticing. A lot of the times Batwoman looks too young and slim. Keep in mind, she is a woman, who trained at West Point wearing basically Kevlar. Instead, she's drawn and appears more like a 16 year old girl in a costume more in tune with a '66 Batgirl likeness of thin material. She needs to look somewhat bulky, strong, big, something. Then the cape looks awful, so many lines it looks like crumbled up tissue paper. Clayface looks... retarded? I don't know how to put it, but certainly not remotely intimidating. And there are some shots of Kane unmasked where she looks downright awful in the face, like a huge nose or something. No real memorable panels or pages at all.Would I recommend it? Not really, unless you're like me - a die-hard Batwoman fan who wants to stick it out, read to the end and collect them all.

Disappointment
At this point, Batwoman should just be inducted into the Justice League Dark, she has so many stories of a supernatural nature and that would result in the apocalypse. In The Unknowns, the vamp story started in the previous volume builds to a fight with Morgaine, and then collection wraps with a random (supernaturally themed) oneshot.I liked the prior two volumes of this series a lot better, and I hope that the Rebirth series will be more in line with those kind of stories rather than the supernatural ones.

TOTAL BS -_-"
The. Ending. Was. The. Worst. I. Freaking. HATE. This. So. Much.Where the F*** do I even begin? For starters ever since this came out, I was super excited and happy that there was a LGBT heroine. I fell in love with the beginning of the series, but ever since they decided for Kate and Maggie to not get married, it was a definite turn of events which made me feel that the story had patches and didn't tie any loose ends. Sure, Maggie was part of this volume (writers trying so hard to neutralize the past relationship of Kate and Maggie), but really? I would of been 'okay' without the "five years later" BS of an ending. I felt that this ending was a shock element for Batwoman readers. I wanted to avoid reading this volume because looking at the ratings, I didn't want to be disappointed with the story line the writer was going for; however, my curiosity and devotion to collect all volumes compensate how horrible this volume might be. UGHHH I really hope that the "Batwoman: Rebirth" that came out Feb. 2017 will do justice because this volume just ruined my love for Batwoman.

Why?
This continues from vol 5. It’s a dumpster fire. For a series where the first 4 volumes are stellar. It’s sad to see this is how it ended.

I loved the first few New 52 Batwoman books but this ...
I loved the first few New 52 Batwoman books but this one was a bit of a let down. There's some interesting new characters and I was happy with how the main story ended but... the story goes all over the place like the new writer picked up the story, didn't know where he wanted to go and then put it back where he found it. I couple of additional stories range from just unnecessary (a recap of her origin story) to unnecessary and bad (possible 5 year later event).

and that decision not to let Batwoman marry was the worst idea that DC could come with
It lacked that punch that the other volume had, and that decision not to let Batwoman marry was the worst idea that DC could come with. A shame it end like this as Batwoman gave DC comics that edge

Five Stars
Great incorporation of less familiar characters alongside the sisterly relationship starting up again.
