America
The songs need no introduction and these timeless harmonised classics came back to life. I am giving it four stars as the Bass is, in my opinion, a tad heavy. Other than that the vinyl was worth it and good value for money.

Best of Anerica
Who can argue these songs aren’t the best of the group? Just maybe not all of them!Well worth the price!!

One of the pioneers of Country-Rock
I first got "History" America's Greatest Hits as a Christmas present went it first came out in late 1975 on vinyl and I still have it !!!. I was 19 at the time. Well, I'm 63 now and I got it on CD and love it even more. "America " won the "Grammy" for Best New Artist in 1973 winning over another Country-Rock group "The Eagles". Dewey Bunnell plays guitars and percussion. Gerry Beckley plays guitars, bass, keyboards and harmonica. Dan Peek played guitars, bass, keyboards and harmonica. "History"- America's Greatest Hits went to No. 3 on The Billboard Charts and went multi-platinum. The hits "A Horse With No Name" written by Dewey Bunnell who sang lead vocal went to No. 1 on The Billboard Charts, a Gold Record. "I Need You" written by Gerry Beckley who sang lead vocal went to No. 9. "Ventura Highway" written by Dewey who sang lead vocal went to No. 8, all in the year 1972. "Don't Cross The River" written by Dan Peek who sang lead, made Billboard's Top 40 in early 1973. "Tin Man",produced by The Beatles producer George Martin who also plays piano on it, written by Dewey who sang lead went to No. 4 and "Lonely People" written by Dan who sang lead went to No. 5, both in 1974. "Sister Golden Hair" written by Gerry who sang lead went to No.1 in 1975. Some members of the legendary studio musicians nicknamed "The Wrecking Crew" had played with them. Gerry Beckley's song "Muskrat Love" became a Top 10 hit for "The Captain and Tennille" in 1975. A then unknown artist named Phil Hartman who was the brother of the group's then manager John Hartman did the cover art work for the album. Phil Hartman later became an actor and comedian who was a regular on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" from 1986 to 1994 and he was great . He won an "Emmy" award for it in 1989. He received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014. "America" was inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2006 and received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.

Just as Good as it was a LONG Time Ago!
I love these songs. Pretty much all of them. And I had heard them only sporadically on the radio, or would sometimes to to YouTube to look for them and have a listen. Used to have this on vinyl, but with no turntable anymore, that didn't help! Love this CD. Love the music.

The Beatles hun oeuvre opnamen.
