Good memories.
It was nice reliving the glory days of Britpop with this book. If you were a fan of the genre then by all means, pick it up.

Excellent introduction or reminder to the Britpop scene
I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect the content of my review. This is an excellent and comprehensive A to Z overview of the Britpop music scene in the UK between 1992 and 1998. It covers the leading bands such as Oasis, Blur, Suede, Pulp and Elastica, as well as scores of other bands, albums and performers, and describes the origins and influence of Britpop on popular culture.I Was Britpopped is an encyclopedia. In other words, it’s not intended to be read from cover to cover, but dipped into. It’s an admittedly personal selection of what the authors consider to be the most relevant bands, performers, albums, songs, venues and even clothing of the Britpop era. It’s well written and researched, with over 500 entries in the A-Z format. It does not contain any photos; it’s text only. However, it does have a couple of smart illustrations showing the number 1 songs and albums in this era.Aside from providing a wealth of information, it’s also got a spattering of unusual snippets. For example, that Steven Spielberg approached Supergrass to create a Monkees-style TV show. (They declined.)Although a personal selection, I would be very surprised if any “official” Britpop encyclopedia could be any more comprehensive than I Was Britpopped. It’s a Different Class. Some Might Say. D’you Know What I Mean? Definitely Maybe.

Very decent stroll down Britpop memory lane
Really decent book to flick through and picks bits out of. Some nuggets of information but main stream info mainly. It’s an A-Z style rather than a story so not a book to ‘read’ as such but worth buying if you’ve got an interest in the era.
