Setup can be tricky
Bought over a year ago, changed out the rings right away to a low-profile pair from Vortex. Out of the box with OE rings or the low-pro's it was pretty obvious there was a misalignment between the scope and the bore. More than could be overcome with the built-in range of the scope. Whether it was the quality of my Mosin's rear sight plate alignment (insert obligatory garbage rod joke here) or the tolerances on the rail, rings, scope, etc, I don't know. Put this away and shot my other milsurps.Fast forward to a week or two ago, my astigmatism is bad enough that the rear irons are virtually invisible on any of my rigs, and I am forced to revisit this setup with deer season coming up. That and I really wanted to get my Mosin "on the board" (my only other milsurp that hasn't taken deer is my M96 Swede). Here's what I found:Whatever the underlying issue(s), my combo is extremely sensitive to how it's set up. To wit...the rail bottoms out against the original sight plate so fast that the aft setscrews are basically unnecessary, meaning that touching them off on the sight plate raises the rear of the scope enough to make max elevation correction inadequate. For windage, I learned thru trial and error that the fore and aft AND left-or-right clamping orientation of my rings was hugely important. As noted above, it's pretty obvious when the scope and bore axes are not even close...but there was a configuration of clamping orientation (fore left and aft right in my case) and swapping the rings fore&aft which "magically" resulted in something that had me not-maxed-out on windage in either direction.Once I had that nailed (a couple of boxes of ammo later), it works well enough. Accuracy of my particular 91/30 itself is not really the question here either...prior to zeroing/experimenting it was on paper at 30yds with 3 of 4 shots thru the same hole(touching) and the 4th about 1/2in away...just nowhere near POA. Much tweaking later, zeroed at 30 and later 75yds (max at friend's farm "range") it'll do 1-1.5" on the bullseye. More than enough of minute-of deer.Would recommend IF you're patient and willing to experiment.

Nice rig!
Really impressed with this. I read the reviews, spent hours watching YouTube to see how other folks mounted their scopes, and to be honest, I had some doubts. Careful when driving the pin out of the iron sight, the spring can launch it a bit, not overly painful, but entertaining for your friends. I improvised a clamp to hold the rifle steady, pulled the bolt out and looked down the barrel as I adjusted the mount for level. Three screws to adjust, I found starting at the back, then front, then middle, made the adjustments the most reliable. Nice set screws to lock those three in place once you have it. I aligned it to within about 2" at 100yds, then headed for the range. Last adjustments were taken up by the scope itself without issue. I do wish there was a bit more powerful option, 2x doesn't get you too far and 7x isn't quite far enough, I think I may look for something in the 12-14x top end, 2-5x bottom end, but that's not saying the included scope isn't worth it; it performed quite well, held adjustment and is nice and clear with an appropriate eye relief for the mount. This was worth it just for the mount, scope is a bonus.

It came rusted and worn
The mount does fit on a 91/30, and the scope does fit the mount, so in general in “works”. However, my mount came rusted and worn, in the sealed plastic container. Also the scope is pretty low quality (but what can you expect for the price). I haven’t shot yet to see if the scope will hold a zero, or possible just die from the recoil all together, but my hopes aren’t high so far. I wouldn’t suggest this if you’re wanting anything more than a very cheap “range toy” accessory. If you’re considering hunting, find something better.

Not just M44 and M91/30
Thought I would write a brief review, and will update after testing. Mounting is easy. comes with the hex keys you may need. Also, while it is advertised for the M44 and the M91/30 it will also work with the M38 variant. Alignment seems good. Would have gone 5 stars but found the latching on the rail for the rings was a bit too tight. Had to remove one side of the ring mount to actually get it on the rail instead of normal rail setup where you can start it on the one end and slide it to your chosen location on the rail.

Can't complain for the price..
I'm can't really say if I'm impressed or not seeing as I got this for my first gun, and have never actually used a scope before, but I can say that the mount is cheaply built and not very good, the scope however worked just fine (after 5 rounds I kept having to tighten the mount bolt) I went to the hardware store and got a better bolt and nut that holds the mount on then screwed the 3 support bolts down and now it seems to be on tight and strong.Scope was great at about 50 yards once the mount was on tight. But I'm a newbie with guns/gun accessories so I wanted to start cheap and overall I feel this is a good bang for your buck

Scope is good but mount not so good.
Mounted the item and didn't like the mount setup. Didn't feel like it would stand up to repeated 7.62x54 recoil so I took it off. The scope itseIf is decent and will keep it, but I will buy a different more solid mount to place on rifle.

So easy—a Gunners Mate could do it.
Not bad for the price. Aim seems to be getting better at making decent sights for a reasonable cost. I bought this one because it was a complete modernization package for the Mosin Nagant. Very easy installation. I suggest one of the YouTube how to videos.

needs loctite
The Eye relief on these is very good for a scout rifle - The eye piece lens seems solid but the other lens cover with the silver ring is loose - from the factory - I used red loctite on them and they seem to be holding - 100 rounds and looks good so far.
