The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions [Revised Edition]: Readings, Rituals, Music, Dances, and Toasts

It had some good information in it but not what I needed for where I live.

I bought this book exclusively for the suggested readings and passages. I really only read through that section. Although my husband and I did not end up using any of these readings, this was a great way to get our feet wet, get us talking and get us brainstorming. It helped us target passage lengths, topics and tones that we were interested in and enjoyed. It aws overall a great way to get the conversation between us started and get the daunting task of choosing readings (a very personal, integral part of your ceremony) started. I'd recommend this book to anyone intimidated by the thought of choosing readings or organizing their ceremony.

I am having a outdoor wedding at a botanical garden with an indoor reception at a historic manor/castle. This wedding will be out of the ordinary church then reception hall that my aquaitances, family, friends and I are used to. My fiance and I want to still honor our religion in the ceremony (Roman Catholic) although Priests are not allowed to marry couples outside the church. This book helped tremedously on how to come about the wedding ceremony, traditions, readings etc. I recommend it to everyone getting married

I would highly recommend this book for anyone planning a wedding, whether you are the bride, groom, officiant, or planner! There are many excellent readings and quotes. Additionally, there are chapters covering music, vows, speeches/toasts, rings, and programs. I am currently using it to plan a ceremony, and this text has proved invaluable. In addition to writing the ceremony, the music section has been useful in choosing a first-dance piece. There are "snapshot" sections from real couples as well that have been fun to read. Buying this book is a good investment.

Although I'm a wedding officiant, my bookcase is not cluttered with scores of wedding books. I keep just one shelf of essential books. This book is on the shelf and has been a trusted resource for years.Because I officiate inter-faith ceremonies, I've turned to this book for the exact wording of vows and ring exchanges of different faith traditions. It's an elegant, useful and reliable planning resource - which is what we've come to expect from The Knot! I'm delighted to see that it's available in Kindle format.
