Great textbook for a developmental psychology class
Great textbook for a developmental psychology class. Very informative for understanding many phases and aspects of the life cycle. Worth it even for general reading. Available as both an ebook and a paperback.Edition after edition, Kathleen Stassen Berger’s bestselling textbooks connect all kinds of students to current state of developmental psychology, in an engaging, accessible, culturally inclusive way. Berger’s Invitation to the Life Span does this in just 15 concise chapters, in a presentation that meets the challenges of exploring the breadth of the life span in a single term. The new edition of Invitation to the Life Span incorporates a wide range of new research, especially in fast-moving areas such as brain development and psychopathology, while taking advantage of innovative new tools for media-centered teaching and learning. But throughout, as always, the signature voice of Kathleen Berger ties it all together, with relatable explanations of scientific content, wide ranging cultural examples, and skill-building tools for sharper observation and critical thinking.About the author: KATHLEEN STASSEN BERGER teaches at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York, recently as the elected chair of the Social Science Department. She is also the author of The Developing Person Through the Life Span and The Developing Person Through Childhood and Adolescence.

Love Invitation to the Life Span!
Easily one of my favorite books in my college career. Read this book for a prerequisite for nursing school. It is laid out very well for comprehension and does a great job laying out all the developmental changes one would expect. It is however a textbook so it is quite lengthy! But really helps break down the changes in the human brain from infancy to death. I wish more of my books were written by Kathleen Stassen Berger, she did a fabulous job. If you are in school or have a job were you need to understand human development further this is a great book.

Good Quality
This was another book that I rented through Amazon. It was so easy to return and the book was in great condition, only a little bit of writing and highlighting throughout. So much nicer then buying and having to keep the textbook.

Helpful.
The book is pretty good for a Human Development course. Each different phase of life has a biological and then psychosocial developmental aspect covered. I found it a little dry, but informative.

Good price, okay condition
Not a big deal, but notes written in on multiple pages and phrases and definitions already underlined & highlighted when it stated perfect condition.
