I wash my face first, apply moisturizer, then wait 10 minutes or so for the moisturizer to absorb, then apply the silicone face patches and they work all night long.

My suggestion is to wear patches at night for better results, but they can be used anytime. It is recommended not to wear makeup during the day, as wearing the patch after makeup will still result in visible marks.
