This cable is great. It feels like a strong and well made cable. The flowing lights are mesmerizing. Once your unit is fully charged, the lights stop flowing, so you can just glance at the cable to see it you are fully charged or not.UPDATE...I had a problem with one of the colors not lighting. I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement cable immediately with no questions asked. This seller is the best! I highly recommend buying from this seller.

These USB cords were very cool while they worked. I received multiple pairs and they all broke. One of them all the LEDs stopped working and the other the housing for the plug came apart. Proceed with caution.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The main reason that I bought this cord was the lights. I had seen something like this before and wanted it, just because I thought it would be fun. And, yes, it is FUN. Just watching the red, green and blue lights chasing from the wall adapter (not included) or the laptop to the cell phone is very entertaining. (It doesn't take much for me. ;) Little did I know that this cord would be as tech savvy as it is.When you first plug it into a power source, it will go through it's own little self check and then go back into sleep mode (all dark). Then, when you plug it into your phone, it will do another self check. And, if the phone needs charging, the phone will initiate the process and you will see the lights.Now, depending on the amount of power being delivered by the source, the lights will be brighter or dimmer, at the phone end. I have used a high output smart charger and all the lights are brightly lit. Then, I have used the laptop as a power source and the blue and green lights are dim at the phone end. The red one does not light at all.When your phone is fully charged, all of the lights go out.The cable works very well as a fast data transfer cable. I move pics and vids between my phone and my laptop with ease.The cable seems very sturdy, with plenty of support and rigidity, while still permitting light to be transmitted through the fiber wrappings. The silicone jacket is translucent enough for the light to be seen and durable enough to protect the inner cables.This TOHAO type C cable is a fun and functional cable. I am very happy with this cable and think that it would make a fun gift for your tech-addict. Five stars.
