This is a ‘thumbnail tour’ of the history of Rootes Group. Good photos. A good quick read. Another good print from Shire.

this book filled me in on product information which i didn't previously know, including some photos. i enjoyed the personal connection which the author had with the company. overall, i found the book a bit light on the technical side of things, but as a complement to other books in my library, i am glad to have purchased it.

Really well done Rootes history. Lots of great photos. And, great value in the current world of overly expensive automotive histories. Top marks to the author and Shire!

Excellent little book giving a potted history of the Rootes Group.

Nicely produced booklet (but only 64 pages A5) with some good artwork and evocative images. Just a shame that it reads like an incessant shopping list in stultifying detail including stuff like changes to quarter-lights and boot sizes. Obviously you expect a lot of tech data in a book like this but the author doesn't have any ability whatsoever for engaging the reader in what was an incredible rise and fall story of a British motoring dynasty. Also fails to go into any detail about the engineering downsides with cars like the Imp.
