My cute makeup table!
You can't know what another persons experience is but I can't imagine why someone would be unhappy with this desk. It's a very nice, medium size desk and it fits all my needs perfectly! It's heavier than it looks and as far as I can tell, it's very well made for the price. Great 'makeup table'!

Great Purchase - Frankly it's Underrated
This desk is awesome! I'm a student, and I was weary of purchasing this because other reviews mentioned that it was made of poor quality wood, and that the cabinet door didn't correctly fit in the desk. I wouldn't listen to those reviews-- there are adjustment screws and you need to use them to align the door (something that the reviewers probably weren't aware of.) There is also a review claiming this desk is made of "cheap" material because they spilled water on it and the wood "swelled up" after five minutes. I wouldn't listen to that one either-- no wooden desk is designed to resist water, and after 5 minutes, it's bound to soak up the water and do some damage. Just be careful and use a water bottle with a lid instead of a glass. In regard to the build, my desk assembled quite easily. It has plenty of storage, and is made of quality, sturdy wood with a good finish. My only problem is that the paint is pretty dark. I ordered the chocolate color, and the product I received is quite a bit darker than advertised in the photo. The picture on the website was very brightly lit, so the desk appears to be a lighter shade than it really is. I posted a photo of my product that I believe more accurately represents the chocolate desk color. Overall, I think it was a solid purchase, and a desk that is quite frankly underrated.

VERY NICE DESK FOR THE PRICE
This is a great desk for the price. It is heavy/sturdy and the price is reasonable. It took me about 4 hours alone. I took my time and a couple of interruptions to answer phone calls etc. The illustrations in the instruction booklet really helped and the directions were easy to follow. The back of the desk is not painted so I just painted it black in about 15 minutes. The second picture is the back of the desk after I painted it.

Great desk for the price, fits adults too.
I moved into a studio apartment to save money after my car died, and had to down size all my furniture. I'm 52 and a little puffy, yeah puffy sounds good, and I thought that this desk might be too small, but took the chance anyway. I love it. I don't feel crampped at all and it took me about an hour to put together. Sturdy, nice little desk. Just keep in mind that this is an inexpensive pressed wood desk that does the job. It is not an expensive Mahogany or walnut desk.

JUNK!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!! POOR QUALITY!!!!!
First let me say, the first desk i ordered came in damaged. I received replacement quickly ,but had to repackage and send back a heavy desk through UPS to keep from getting charged again. OK fine, new desk arrives, we assemble. The top part of the desk after a few days stared sagging to where the two top drawers will no longer shut. Now I am trying to return again, but i keep getting redirected to the manufacture. this has gotten me no where. DO NOT buy if your looking for quality.

Fits like a glove
Excellent for small areas. We are apartment dwellers in NYC and this fits the bill.I read about it generally being for children, but I am 5' 10" and I have enough room. The leg room is excellent. The top of the unit holds: Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Computer speakers, Fios Router, Phillips Smart Hub, and Police Scanner. Plenty of room to spare for your cell or drink etc... I am using the side compartment for my Dell Tower. Fits like a glove.. And my average home armed desk chair fits right in also. Quite happy so far.

Not well made Not Easy to Assemble
This desk arrived witha big crack on one of the boards. The crack didn't go all the way through, so I let it go. Then the wasy assembly part -- that was simply not the case. I have two handymen that I use to fix things in my home, so I called them when I saw all the pieces and hardware. Together, they spent about four hours putting this beauty together. It LOOKS nice, but it is really a piece of junk. It's flimy. There's no wood involved. And for m,e, it's too high to be a comfortable computer desk, as it advertises. The old one was perfectly set for my size. iadvise agaist using this as a computer desk. Someone used it for make-up. Tht seems like a better idea. It;s very disappointing and dreadful to assemble. Great product, though damaged through shipping
It's a pretty good table, it's fairly easy to assemble. No missing parts on my case though it seems to have succumbed to a few scratches... I assume mostly due to shipping, the protection for the top and bottom side of the box is good and decent with a pretty thick amount of cardboard and foam. Though the problem is the parts aren't that held together and can graze each other on shipping. I like how the smaller parts are kept in a small box inside the packaging. Though the protection on the taller sides of the packaging seem to be pretty bad as the only thing preventing the table's parts from being damaged is one layer of cardboard. Nothing that disappointing, but what really kept me from giving this product 5 stars are the dents succumbed due to the poorly protected sides of the packaging and the broken wooden side which is meant to be part of the big drawer. I was planning on returning it as their return policy has stated though I though it would have caused too much hassle in my part so I had just wood glues the pieces together.

Perfect Study Desk!
I bought this desk to fit into a tiny work space, and bought the South Shore Axess Collection Printer Stand to give myself some more organization space. I really love this desk. It's comfortable, and the hole for the feet allows me to stretch out my legs. In the back of the desk, the particle board is a couple inches short on the compartment-side, and I recommend letting the hole be on the bottom for computer wires, if you have a PC.The varnish, like all South Shore items, is basically a sticker, so be careful about leaving mugs/cups/vases on the surface without coasters. If you catch it early, you can mop up the moisture and it will mostly return to normal, except for permanent swelling in the particle board beneath.Overall, for the price, I'm happy with this desk. It's sturdy and pretty, and I was able to assemble it in under an hour. None of the pieces were damaged or chipped during shipment; something I was expecting after reading all of the other reviews. My photo is meant to show true size of the desk.

Very well made and looks beautiful!
I was surprised how well the desk is made, especially at this price point. A lot of furniture manufacturers cut corners on the drawers, it's not the case here, they are solid just as the rest of the desk. Assembly instructions are easy to read and it's fairly easy to put it together. All parts are numbered, however, most of them have the part number printed on the unfinished edges and some are hard to read. Everything was included (except tools which they state in description)and they include extra screws just in case. There is one part that could be confusing when you look at it you might think that with the pre-drill holes you need to insert metal bolts but the manual shows that you don't, so follow the manual and you'll be OK.Once assembled it is very sturdy, doesn't wobble and looks beautiful! One thing I have noticed is that it may not be the perfect desk for tall people. I'm 178 and when sitting at the desk there is a quarter of an inch space between my legs and the bottom edge of the drawer. The distance from the bottom edge of the drawer to the floor is about 24 1/4 inches in case someone wants to know.Although it can be assembled by one person you might need help moving the package around your house because it is heavy. All in I'm very happy with my purchase and the quality, design and look exceeded my expectations.

Solid, not that hard to build by yourself but might take a bit of time (~1.5-2h). The little cubby door is held by a mini-magnet in case anyone was wondering so it holds together nicely.Edges are kind of sharp so you'll have to watch your forearms when using your laptop on this thing. You'll need to give it a little wipe down every now and then after you first get it because there is a bit of sawdust that kicks up from the exposed particle wood sections on the back.

What a deal!
I got this for under $90, needing something to fit in a very small space. It is a really nice desk for the price. Keep in mind, it is chipboard so it's truly nothing amazing (and really heavy), but it came well packaged and was quite easy to get together - except for one piece near the end. I really like the little door, too. Decent sized desktop. Nice and clean looking. I would buy this again...fit the budget and the small space!

Decent quality, functional, good-looking desk.
Did not exceed expectations, but neither did it disappoint. Overall, a decent furniture piece. What sold me on this purchase was the storage space it offered compared to other similarly-sized desks. There is more than enough space for several pencil cases’ worth of office utensils as well as a dozen large binders, a stack of folders, a couple notebooks, and a packet of paper (which is what I’ve got in there now).A few of the parts had some minor scratches on them (thankfully not on the front-facing parts), and there were a few tiny chips on the edge of the desk surface, but it was nothing that the included touch-up marker couldn’t conceal. The assembly itself was easy enough—instructions are straightforward; there is more reliance on diagrams than words, which makes it super simple to follow. Even if you don’t have experience assembling furniture by yourself (which I did not), this is pretty much as easy as it gets, so if nothing else, this makes for good practice. (Coffee breaks included, it took me about 3 hours to get the thing standing)However, it did take me quite a few trips up the stairs to transport the whole thing to the second floor of my house (the package was way too heavy to lug up there by myself), so do heed the 2-person recommendation. All in all, if a newbie like me could get it to come out sturdy and functional, I’d say it’s a well-made piece. :)
