Casio G-shock Throwback 1990s Carbon Core Guard GA-2100TH-1AJF Mens

For a lot of collectors of low-end (especially Casio) watches, the GA2100 has been something of a grail watch due to its geometric similarity to the legendary Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. (You can even get RO-lookalike mod kits.) That means the entire line has been damn near impossible to get since it first came out in 2019; I wound up buying this Christmas-colored JDM model because it was the first one I could find that was even close to US MSRP.If you like ana-digis, this is a pretty good watch. It lacks Bluetooth integration like its even more Royal Oaky sibling, the Edifice ECB10, but it's a little smaller, a lot lighter, and not nearly as flashy, if those are concerns for you. The digital screen is very small, a common and valid complaint about the design, though at this point in my life not one that affects me personally. (Check back with me in 10-15 years.) I do like that in this particular model, the screen isn't reversed like it is on most other 2100 models. The light is adequate to light the screen itself in the dark, but it doesn't really reach the whole face; the lume on the hands is decent, but the watch lacks lumed indices, so, um, good luck with that in the dark.As I said, it seems like it was designed to be modded; the "carbon core" construction means that the bezel is just an outer shell that can be easily removed with four screws, and the included band is a quick-change type. The green/red/gold trim is not obtrusive (unlike, say, the all-red model), though depending on your taste it may make it rather too seasonal to be worth the $130 or so most sellers are charging. It has all the usual functions you'd expect out of a modern Casio ana-digi, including world time; it does, however, lack a second hand, so be sure that isn't something you need. (It has a perfectly good digital seconds readout though.)Now is the GA2100 series as a whole worth the hype? Eh, maybe. Most people don't need G-Shocks to begin with, and the Royal Oak, iconic as it is, is not something most people who aren't into watches would have ever heard of, so the octagonal bezel isn't going to mean much to the average buyer. It is nice and light, and thinner and less chunky than most G-Shock designs, which is a huge plus. However, if you're not a collector, and you're reading this while the series in general is still very popular and hard to find, it's probably not worth going out of your way for, because it probably doesn't have anything that you absolutely need that you can't get from an easier-to-get G-Shock.

Item received sooner than expected. My thanks to the seller. Packaging was excellent. As far as the watch goes, I am happy to be part of the "Casio Oak" club now with the ownership of this watch. There are lots of great YouTube videos out there that are from those that appreciate this watch "as is" or from those who have additional fun with it by modification to appear somewhat like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. The appeal of this version of the Casio G-Shock 2100 model is the price. I also believe it to be the least popular since fans of this watch tend to go for the solid dark colored versions. I decided to take a chance and purchase this watch. I am happy to say that I'm more than pleased, and now owning it and seeing it in person, I would personally pick this one over the others. It is larger than a G-Shock square yet lighter and just as comfortable. I will be one to modify it. Using 'AliExpress' app to try out a gold metal bezel and wrist band. Maybe it will look cool or maybe it won't work. If not, I can always switch it back to the original bezel and band. Viewing this online, you'd think it would only work for a holiday or festive occasion, but the colors are subtle enough to wear for everyday use. The analog hands have a decent enough illuminating indigo glow when coming in from the outside into a dark area. It also has additional lighting for the digital section. The watch also has a cool feature that with the simultaneous pressing of two buttons, you can temporarily move the analog hands of the watch out of the way to read the digital display of the time. Along with traditional features that come with a G-Shock watch, I am not surprised to find that I am more than satisfied with this purchase.

Love the look and how reminiscent it is of a roulette table. it came a lot faster than estimated or expected and looks great. It is super light which is a little disappointing but honestly what else would you expect from a digital watch with a rubber/plastic band. Really love the look and the shipper got it to me really fast.

I love this watch! It's bold yet reserved and possibly on the edge of tacky without going over that line in my opinion but other may find it too much. The type of thing you don't notice until you do and then you cant stop looking at it! Never the less, I think its a perfect edition to anyones attire, holiday season or not. Seller shipped quick and it arrived in less than a week during black friday weekend! Must be a Christmas miracle lol

This watch is the same as many of the other GA-2100 watches, except for the markers alternating in red and green colors. The hands are gold on this model. I wish it had Multi-band six and Tough Solar.

I have been threatening to get this “new” G-Shock as a replacement for my Apple Watch Series 4, and I am so glad that I did! Like many G-Shock reviewers have said before, the product photographs do not do justice to how amazing the watch looks in person - the green and red dial markers are not as bright as they appear on the website photographs. The Gold Buttons; matching Gold Hour and Minute Hands together with the small Golden accents on the hour markers, look really incredible, and sophisticated. The entire watch face is incredibly clear and easy to read - also the reason why I did not opt for the “black out” model I originally intended to buy. The watch is very slim for a G-Shock and weighs almost nothing on the wrist! The luminous glow on the Hour and Minute hands is not incredibly bright, but adequate in very low light conditions.I would HIGHLY recommend the seller 銀座紗古夢堂 as well as DHL’s incredible service. From when I placed the order in Japan, to when the G-Shock was on my arm in Johannesburg, South Africa took less than 3,5 Days!!!Incredibly happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend this distinctive Casio G-Shock, for formal and every day wear! 👊🏼

遅刻してしまいました。原因は針の位置がずれており、磁気などの影響でずれる事があるようです。頑丈で壊れない 時計として誕生した腕時計…G-SHOCK（ジーショック ...と聞いていたのに信頼性が無い…がっかりしました。もしこの時計簡単に狂わないのならずっと使いたいと思うのに…なんとかならんですか？(以下2020年１月18日)本日交換品が届きました。ありがとうございます。念のため説明書を見ると、アナログ針がデジタル表示と会わない場合の調整法の説明は無く、狂っている場合ウェブサイト参照としかありません。 今回の出来事で時間にナーバスになり、完全デジタル式の腕時計も購入しましたが本品が気に入っているので、大事に使用します。 とは言っても、スマホ使用時などの磁気等、一般的な使用環境は避けませんが使ってみたいと思います。 磁気などの影響に関して注意書きは説明無しにて、分からず購入してしまい、不都合が有ればデジタル腕時計への交換も余儀なくされる品だと思いました。(１月20日)又何故かアナログ針が狂います。

時間・カレンダー自体は、曜日もわかり、使い勝手はよさそう。しかし、同じモデルでも、ブラックオンリーや、ブラックと文字盤のみが白のタイプは、見た目はかっこいいかもしれないが、実用面となると、曜日表示の見やすさなどから、この商品の方がいいだろう。表題に書いたとおり、暗いところで文字盤を照らす？LED？の明かりは、カレンダー、日付などを判別できる程度で、明るさはいまいち。曜日は指針がゴールドのため、指針が黒いほかの同種タイプより、いくぶんかは視認はしやすいと想像する。以上から、値段との兼ね合いなどを勘案すると、大きな不満はないが、中年以降の老眼予備軍には、ブラックオンリーや、ブラックと文字盤のみ白、の同種タイプはたぶん、使いにくいだろうと考える。耐久性は、かったばかりなので、評価できず。

落ち着いた色合いと地味すぎない配色で気に入ってます。それいいね、と言ってくれる人もいました。が、デジタルが本当に見辛いです。細かすぎ、結構頻繁に針に隠れてまったく読めない。もう少し大きく、端だけでも見えたら避針しなくても確認できるのに。そしてライトは安っぽい白LEDで、自作して取り付けました！というくらい雑。夜光も薄すぎてぼんやり。今までルミノックスやダイバーという視認性に優れた時計を使ってきた事もありますが、時刻を知る、時間を計るという基本機能の信頼性はあまり持てません。
