Pelican Storm iM2500 Case No Foam (Black)

Solid as a tank and an outstanding value
I was looking for a hard roller case to carry around the heft of my camera gear, and needed it to be small enough to be carried on international flights. In steps in the Hardigg iM2500. It's well designed and does the job wonderfully. I bought the optional lid organizer to store my small knick knacks as well. The locking mechanism is buttery smooth in operation. Extremely easy to open and close and superior to the competition's. There are a few small negatives: a) the side of the case where the wheels are has gotten scuffed due to the case being stood on its end. There are no "feet" for lack of a better term to protect the wall of the case, so in essence the entire side wall can scrape concrete or whatever surface you're on when you stand it up on its wheels. b) the padded dividers aren't as versatile as the competitor's and makes smart packing a bit more difficult. I wish they offered different sized dividers but the only ones that came with it are all the same small size. You HAVE to have those two long dividers there that run along the center spine, otherwise the smaller dividers can't reach very far. c) Lastly and its somewhat related to this case, but the optional lid organizer is cheap and poorly designed. It's flimsy and needs to be completely overhauled. While being better than nothing, it doesn't compare to the quality engineering found on this case.

Great hardshell case!
I needed to travel with a special solar telescope and needed a case that wold work for carry-on airline use. My telescope manufacturer (Lunt) recommended this iM2500 and the preferred case for the job. The pluck foam allowed me to customize the fit for my gear. The case is extremely well-made and durable and really ideal for airline/travel use. It has roller wheels and an extending handle just like most roller luggage except more rugged than luggage. The pluck-foam has about 4 layers and it is possible to order refills if for some reason you need to re-arrange how you place your gear in the case.I actually bought of two of these, then later ordered a third because of how well it works. They do stack together modularly.

Can't go wrong with a Pelican case.
hard to go wrong with a Pelican case. It's always hard to justify the cost until you get a cheaper flimsier version. This case will last a lifetime.

Exceptional protection from an inexpensive case
Perfect for an extremely expensive laptop that I need to travel with.Short length means short handle extension. Sometimes it hits my heels when I roll it behind me, but I'm overcoming that with a ski boot tote loop/handle.

Sick of buying new suit cases as I travel a lot, have a smaller unit for tools, this one bought for clothes as a check bag, had over a year, only thing is TSA, customs, and airport personell always double check as it must not be normal to use as a suit case, so they always look and ask twice..

great travel case
I love hard cases such as Storm Case and Pelican. I own both brands and they are very comparable in many ways, and basically equal in my opinion. I use this case for camera gear and it hold 2 DSLR bodies with battery grips, 2 flashes, 4 lenses (including a big 70-200 2.8), and lots of little accessories like batteries and flash modifiers. I had the cubed foam for a while but eventually purchased the divider set and like that much more.
