The device itself works GREAT. I needed this because new TVs just don't have analog outputs anymore, and I didn't want to change my Pioneer stereo amplifier which only has analog inputs. This little box does the trick, and does it very well, and inexpensively. Sounds quality is very good!The only thing that possibly could have stopped me giving it 5 stars is that the obviously cheaply made USB power adapter supplied with it, isn't of the highest quality - and at loud volumes and during the quiet moments of a TV show, you can hear a slight hum. I changed the adapter for another USB power adapter I had lying around (from a Samsung smartphone) and the hum disappeared completely. The supplied adapter is 5V / 1.0 amp, so find or purchase one of equivalent or slightly higher ampage rating if you get the hum, or just want to order one along with this device. I decided that due to the crazy low price, I could not mark this product down a star for this, since it didn't cost me anything to fix the very slight issue.*** UPDATE ***I purchased a pack of these USB charger adapters, and they work great with this device, and no buzz.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHGSNGG/

Edit: 08-19-2020 - I am changing my review from 1 star to 5 star. I initially didn't hear back and thought nothing would be done. But, to my surprise, the seller sent me a replacement free of charge. The new product is working great! I will even add that I tried a different sound converter from another company, and the sound quality was horrible. I am very happy with this seller and their excellent customer service! However, after a couple of weeks, it stopped working completely. I hope the seller can provide a refund or a replacement device.... if not, this was a waste of money.

This little gadget solved a problem I had with my Samsung TV: The TV does not have a headphone jack but instead only a digital optical output jack. So I hooked this converter up to the TV and then my headphones up to the converter.The only problem was the sound was way too loud on the headphones then, and there is no way to adjust it either from the converter or from the TV. Luckily I was able to find a volume controller that I plugged in between the converter and the headphones. Used yo convert from optical output to analog input on powered speakers. Works just fine, clean sound with no noticeable distortion.

I bought this adapter when I had my Bose Cinemate. It worked great until I had to move the TV and reinstall everything. Now, the input for the ac adapter is loose so it won't stay on. I ended up getting a sound bar with built in optical out. Obsolete imo.

Got mine today. Arrived on time. Smaller than I though (which is a good thing for something like this.) Easy to use and works very well. My only "complaint" would be that the toslink cable is cheap. I'm glad I already had one. Because I'd be worried about trying to actually run theirs. Worried that even bending it to run it through a stand, might ruin it... But I paid for the converter, not the cable. The converter seems to be of good quality. The power plug is a nice bonus (and better quality than the toslink cable), as you don't have to use a wall outlet for power. It's actually the usb cord in the picture. Which also means, if the cord gets damage, you could easily replace it! Always a plus. Over-all, very happy with this product and would buy again. In fact, I already have a 2nd one on the way. :)

I have a new LG TV which, like quite a few new TV's does not have a headphone or RCA analog output. I had a pair of wireless (not Bluetooth) headphones which I really liked, but was using my Bluetooth headphones with the TV. However, the LG can't provide both Bluetooth and speaker at the same time, which I would often use so that I could hear some sounds better while my spouse could listen to,the soundbar.So I looked up optical to RCA and found this model among many. The reviews were good, and it is inexpensive, so I took the plunge.I attached it today to the TV output and, true to its specs and other reviews, it did not work until I changed the TV output to PCM. I am satisfied with that and very satisfied with the sound.Now, my soundbar also needs to get sound, so I realized I would need to split the optical SPDIF signal. There were some passive splitters, but I decided to be certain and bought the ViewHD Optical Audio 1x3 Splitter. It works perfectly also, and now I can hear clear sound through the sound bar and my headphones.

Very solid and excellent functionality. I highly recommend the product. Timely delivery andwell packaged. Top marks.

A pesar de que el producto esta fabricado de plastico de no muy buena calidad la señal convertida de infrarrojo es muy buena, los utilizo para conectar de un PS4 a unas Bosé de escritorio y suenan muy bien no he tenido ningún problema, buen producto.
